Seaview Resort Xiamen

Stayed one night after Gulangyu island. Location is not center of tourist destination but still ok as world class resort. With many attractions inside the hotel, customers could enjoy their stay even only inside the site. I tried morning Yoga which was a great experience for us after bike ride to Xiamen University. BTW, service was excellent as well.

I attended a conference at The Seaview in September and was seriously impressed. I spend most week staying in hotels around the region (mainly JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton) and have to say the Seaview lived up to the international boys. Hotel is vast but retains a personal touch. The Spainish (I think) Conceirge - William was incredible - A friend wanted to go swimming and William appeared at his room with a pair of swimming trunks. Another colleague was cooking up Chinese medicine on her balcony (as you do) and maid left her 4 bottles of water with a note saying "saw you might need extra water.." - nice personal touches. The only thing that, in my mind, that didn't live up to it been relabelled a Ritz of Four Seasons in my mind was the buffet. Plenty of choice and the Chinese food ok but lacking finesse and vegetables (seriously other than salad couldn't find any veg)! But this is forgiven for the wonderful attitude and great service offered. Thanks for the stay

Stayed for one night. Room was spacious with a bathtub in the living area. Pity I did not get a chance to use it. Breakfast was a good spread, but there were long lines at the coffee machines. Gym was v spacious. No need for earphones. Conference facilities were top notch

Stayed for several days for a business trip. Local Chinese company runs this hotel. Facilities are nice and well kept up. Staff speaks some English. Buffet is quite expansive for Chinese options and tasty. Much better than sister property International Seaview, which is down the street.

The best in Xiamen

This is definitely and lovely hotel and although it's away from the city center, it's an easy taxi to the downtown. The rooms are spacious and very clean as is the hotel itself. The outdoor pool is closed until May, and they do not have a jacuzzi other than if you use the spa. I'm not really a SPA guy, but it would have been nice to have a drink in a warm jacuzzi outside. There are only views from the upper floors. An indoor pool is open all year and it's pretty nice, but more geared towards laps and cardio than water frolicking for kids.

Traditional, sprawling resort with expansive public spaces and grounds, large outdoor swimming pool (plus indoor pool for winter), relatively close (by hotel golf cart) to the beach. Good choice for families on vacation with children. Large bedrooms with comfortable beds, walk-in showers, outdoor balconies. Some bedrooms have spa tubs as well. Most rooms have sea views but, in some cases, binoculars would help. Decor in public spaces and in bedrooms is more traditional than fading. All facilities are very clean, service is good (allowing for English language challenges for some staff). Food quality adequate but unimaginative.

Stayed at this property directly after Christmas 2015 for 5 nights. The resort is nice, nice facilities and expansive grounds. The location is remote from the city but we knew that going in and frankly it's part of the draw for this property. the hotel is located across the street from the beach. Since we went in winter, we spent a lot of time in the hotel which was at capacity most of our stay. While not the hotel's fault per se there was no attempt to correct or control "bad behavior" of the guests in public places and the buffet breakfast. The Good: - Nice kids play room with jungle gym and other things to keep your little ones occupied on a rainy or cold day - Indoor swimming pool is large and nicely kept - The rooms are modern and clean The Bad: - The rooms are quite small for Chinese hotel standards - The buffet got old after day 2 not a whole lot of switching up of items - The place is very large and we were located very far from the lobby and other main facilities - English language communication is near zero - Ability to provide a 5 star experience in regards to service is severely lacking - Bad behavior of fellow guests I believe if we went for a shorter duration, in nicer weather during a less crowded time my experience may have been somewhat different.
