Ramada by Wyndham Sibiu

For me, having stayed in a good number of Sibiu's top hotels in recent weeks, the Ramada beats them all. The staff are extremely friendly (some weeks had passed between visits 2 & 3, but Roxana, the receptionist greeted me by name as I approached the counter, and the concierges both remembered my name, too), the rooms are excellently appointed, and, from rooms at the rear of the hotel, above, I guess, floor 7, the view is quite wonderful. I couldn't find any fault, even the wi-fi was clocking speeds of 30mbs. Thank you, Ramada! You'll always be my first choice in your lovely city.

The best, in my view, of the three 'major' hotels right in the city centre: very helpful, friendly staff, the room is very comfortable, and, if you get a room at the back of the hotel, from about floor 8, the view is magnificent!

Having been at two other 'top' hotels on this trip, in this city, I'm glad I was at the Ramada last, as it is by far and away the nicest, in terms of conditions, staff, and services. Very comfortable room, wonderful views right over the city, very good standard of cleanliness, charming, courteous staff. The best!

Great location near the historic centre. Good breakfast selection and quality. WiFi worked well. A little noise from the bar downstairs but it wasn't a big issue.

Standard room quite small. Shower head leaked and shower screen not sealed to bath, hence water pooling on floor and tracking to door opening onto carpet. Drinks in bars pricey compared to the Hilton in Sibiu.

A very good location in a very well kept hotel.

I shared a room with a friend for 16 days in this hotel. We were there for the 58th European Go Congress, organized in the same hotel. Everything was acceptable until they actually stole from us. One day, we couldn't access our room anymore. We went to the reception to ask why and they told us we broke a lamp. Of course we didn't, but they showed us a picture the cleaning lady apparently took in our room and said we had to pay. We asked to see the lamp. We also had to access the room anyway because our money was there. They gave us access, but the lamp wasn't there anymore. Instead, we found a third card for our room. It clearly didn't belong to us because they only gave us 2. We went back to the reception with the suspicious card and no lamp. They gave no explanation about it and told us the cleaning lady took the lamp. We told them we wanted to see it, so they sent us back to the room and said somebody would bring it. When we arrived, we found the broken lamp in the corridor, in front of our door. The top part, made of a plastic weaker than paper, was completely shattered and the base was unscrewd. We brought it back to the reception and told the guy there was no way we could destroy a lamp like this without noticing. Lacking any good argument, he told us to wait for the manager. The manager arrived about 30 minutes later. He said he talked with the cleaning lady, and she said she found the broken lamp standing on our desk. We explained him we found the lamp in two pieces, so it could not possibly be standing. Lacking any good argument, he told us to wait for his boss. The boss arrived about 45 minutes later, saying he talked with the cleaning lady and confirmed she found the lamp standing in our room. Not in he mood to call the police or to teach logic to a third brainless employee, we paid 60 euro for the ugliest lamp ever conceived by man, and left.

Good location and what you would expect from the Ramada, the only downside was lack of or no staff in the breakfast room very slow to clear and reset tables. small charge for parking.

Very good conditions.

It was a good hotel. The bathroom setup was a little strange in the sense that there was not a full glass door for the shower, only half of a glass. The result was making a mess when the water left the tub over the uncovered area. Other than that, everything was good.
