Mattress is not comfortable, blanks are thin and not warm

We had a very comfortable stay at Nova Inn Yellowknife. We booked a large Deluxe Queen Suite with a kitchenette and a sitting area with a sofa, which made it feel spacious and practical for our trip. Yes, the furniture is a bit outdated, but everything was clean, warm, comfortable, and cozy - which mattered much more to us. The king-size bed was a highlight: an incredibly comfortable mattress, heavenly bedding, and fantastic double pillows. After long nights of chasing the aurora, it truly felt like bliss to sink into such a great bed and get a proper night’s sleep. The location is also excellent - perfectly situated between Old Town and downtown, with everything within easy walking distance. I also want to mention the staff, as I was surprised to see some negative comments in other reviews. Everyone we encountered during our three-night stay was genuinely kind and helpful. On our last day, we asked if a later checkout would be possible so we could align with the (free!) airport shuttle, and they happily accommodated us since it wasn’t too busy after the weekend. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay and would definitely consider coming back.

Stayed here in March in the main building. The location is really good. Just a 10 min walk from the main downtown area, 15 min walk from the Dettah Ice Road. My room was big and at a good temperature. Bed was soft. Clean where it needs to be clean. Nothing made me disgusted. I liked the restaurant inside: Wing Freak. It was a quiet and warm place to just eat at your own place.

Some wear and tear. Wi-fi was sometimes spotty. There was only one outlet near the bed and it was somewhat awkward to get to because the bedside table was in the way. It would've been nice to have a luggage rack to lay your luggage on. The shower was just a shower head, no handheld wand. My key card had some issues.

Old, outdated, not clean, dirty carpets and couches, feels like a motel, expensive for what you get

To start with the shuttle service from the airport was a great touch from Nova, speed at other Nova hotels also. The room we had was a King room, Lot of space, the bed was amazing, slept like a log, the shower was amazing, good pressure. Temperature was set actually within. Was a great location and we basically walked everywhere, uptown, old town, supermarket close by, eateries.

The only negative was the exterior of the building as you enter needs some repair but must cope a hammering during those -30 to -40 degree days. Some staff were not that friendly. The young lady we had a check-in was very nice and the security guard that processed ùs at check-out was also very helpful.
