The Palms at Pelican Cove

My daughter celebrated her 16th birthday and I could not have selected a better place to celebrate this momentous occasion. The staff were very polite and welcoming. The palms offer is the best in hospitality. Star who works at the front desk was very helpful and has a sweet personality. I am definitely booking reservations to return for another stay.

Nice beach, great staff

The day before our reservation, I was assured the fire dancers and live music would be there Wed night for Caribbean Night. Turned out they didn’t have live music or fire dancers. Food is expensive and mediocre. So disappointed as we have been there several other visits to the island and had a great night of entertainment.

I truly enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and had a great view. The staffing was always helpful and went above and beyond.

This place is fine if you are using it as a base to explore the island. It is not a place to hang out and relax. My top floor ocean view room was great. The ac worked and the bed was comfortable. But the property is run down from prior hurricanes. But it 1/3 the cost of other properties so you get value.

We would not stay at this property again. We arrived at 5pm and our room was not ready. This was 2 hours after check in time. They moved us to a room that was ready, which we appreciated. But the air conditioner did not work. So after another hour wait we were moved to a different room. Once in the new room the toilet wouldn’t flush. My husband took the back off and fixed it. We didn’t want to have to pack back up and move again. The room was nothing crazy nice, it was fine. On our last day there we noticed there was mold on the A/C. The property is not very well maintained. The view off the patio is nothing like the pictures. We couldn’t swim or walk on the beach because of all the seaweed. We were just disappointed because the property was nothing like the description or pictures. It truly is a “ you get what you pay for” situation. I would suggest spending a little more and staying at a nicer hotel or resort.

Star was fantastic!!!! This is the only reason I’ve given stars. Other than her, negative!!! Property is in need of major renovations. Restaurant wasn’t open so I can’t comment on that. Water is coming from underneath the tile in room 1. Someone tried to come into our room in the middle of the night. Bugs everywhere. Smell was horrible. Pure disgust. We ended our stay.

The website pictures paint a picture of a beautiful resort with great accommodations. That is NOT what my husband and I received for our anniversary trip to St. Croix. The resort is run-down with security issues. Our room front door was not sealed and did not fit properly in its frame. We pushed a heavy chair behind the door every night for added security. Our balcony sliding door did not lock-there was a wooden dowel in the track behind the slider to hopefully stop the door from being opened from the outside. Our room had dried white paint drips and splotches everywhere. The bathroom door was split and warped so it did not close. The sink vanity doors were also split and warped with some sort of funk growing inside the under sink cabinet. We received zero guidance on how to operate the wall-mounted cooling system. A call to the front desk to request a visit from maintenance went unmet. We were asked one time, on our last full day, if we wanted housekeeping services. We declined as we had spoken with other people on vacation at the resort who said that their room had been entered without need or permission. I believe our room was entered without need or permission on day 2 of our stay while we were away as some of our belongings were out of place, but nothing was missing. The pool was nice, honestly best part of the resort, however there were missing tiles around the rim of the pool. The beach was covered in yards of sea grass, which is unfortunate because there is great snorkeling in the bay. The website offers beach accessories/activities-there were none. I can not speak to the restaurant or bar as I didn’t wish to eat or drink there. Truth be told, we spent as little time at the resort as possible. I was worried every night that our soft top rental Jeep would be vandalized so we brought all of our belongings (beach chairs, swim fins and masks, beach accessories) in and out everyday.
