Pueblito Escondido Luxury by Mistik

We have stayed here 5 times now, this trip was short notice so we were fortunate enough to get unit 201 (usually booked). The resort is amazing with the best roof top pool in Playa Del Carmen. The view is WOW and the recently rebuilt pool deck is great sunbathing. Pool isn’t heated but ample sun keeps it warm enough to swim any day. This was our first time in unit 201 (We booked Through Bric Rentals) and this by far the best unit we have seen. This is billed as “partial ocean view” and it lives up to that. The large, well appointed balcony has a nice view on the ocean as do both bedrooms. The unit itself is an amazing space decorated with Mayan keepsakes that give an authentic Mexico feel. The kitchen is well equipped which was key for us as we dine in 90% of the time. Beds were great (king size 4 post in master). A/C worked well but we didn’t use it much, with balcony door open and window open a beautiful tropical sea breeze flows through the unit. I had never booked through Bric Vacation Rentals before but they were an amazing. The unit was spotless on arrival, we thought there was a problem with the bottled water supplied and they had it replaced within 20 minutes. Our rental agent. Veronica was amazing, she messaged every couple days to make sure everything was good. This is completely unsolicited but the best Playa Del Carmen rental company I have ever dealt with. Easy to make payments and very service orientated. If staying at Pueblito, I highly recommend unit 201 2 bedroom. I have stayed in 4 units and this by far the best unit. Clean and comfortable.

I wanted to love this condo so much but it just wasn’t the one. A few of the pros, I did like the walking distance to 5th avenue and all the local shops and restaurants. We would walk everywhere from this room that was nearby. The pool is convenient being right outside the back porch. The room is quiet you cannot hear anything at night. The hotel staff was very attentive and welcoming. The beach is really close to this location. We opted to not get a resort this time since we were never in the room. This was perfect for that., if you don’t want to deal with all the resort people and noise at night. I did appreciate them providing some water bottles that were already there or if they were left behind from the previous guest. They did provide you with plenty of toilet paper for your stay, I just wish they provided more trash bags and not just one. Now with the cons… The smell is so intense of mildew and mold, you get a big a smell of it when you first walk in. This room really needs a large dehumidifier. I had to buy room fresheners and cleaners to help tolerate the smell. I mean there was things that should have been replaced that weren’t. The shower head sprays water all over the ceiling. The futon bed in the living room is stained and the cushions need to be replaced. We laid one of the sheets on the futon cushion just to sit on it. The other futon is way too low to lay on and too close to the ground. We had 2 really bad water leaks in the closet, management was very attentive to send someone out to take a look at it. The room was “clean” but I can’t say it was the cleanest. The kitchen was fine, but it really needs a deep clean, like physically pulling out the appliances out and cleaning out under. The fridge was fine but it is so humid in the room it would sweat. This room just needs a big deep clean and maybe a remodel. Any clothing you bring there and don’t wear will linger from the smell of that room. We had to wash everything we brought in that room and spray down the luggage with disinfectant. I was kindly asked to leave a review by the management, but omit the review if it wasn’t a 5 star rating. I wouldn’t have booked this room if I knew the honest ratings and stories that I read online from previous guest from this exact room. It’s a great location and room concept, I just can’t say I would be returning at the moment unless they fix some of the issues listed above. Gabrielle

Not maintained. Things falling apart. Expensive for what you get.

Loved, Loved this Hotel Condo Property! The location is right next to the Beach,at the end of Calle 38. Condo 102 was on the first floor and the condo opened up to one of the two pools this hotel has on the property. The second pool is an infinity pool and overlooks the beach. The condo has a kitchen large living room and a dining area. the bedroom has a king-size bed, bathroom very nice! Everyone from our host Rolando to Mario, Omar, and Hannah all super professional and polite. Hope to come back in December.

Apartment smell due to humidity problems and it showed it has not been maintained over the years (e.g. oxidation). Additional charges to our credit card were made using our deposit for false claims (cleaning the dishes which we didn’t use at all). Reception was useless. Not recommended at all (Apt. 304)

Place was great! Top pools have incredible views. Really doesn’t get much better than this right in Playa del Carmen. However on check in the front desk person refused to allow us into our room because we didn’t know what our room number was and some other thing we are still unsure if even though we had all the papers showing we had paid for the room. We had some Spanish speaking friends who convinced him that we should be let into the apartment. After 10 minutes he let us in but for a time we were left wondering if we would be getting in or not. Quite unsettling.

Steps from the ocean, numerous restaurants and shopping but best of all the roof top pools! The large pool looking out over the ocean and the small private pools for each room. A great place to retreat to after a long day of adventure.

Location is perfect!!! Walking distance to Quinta Avenida, pharmacies, groceries, restaurants, etc. Room 304 has a balcony facing the family pool and it was mostly closed during our stay, so we did not have noise issues. Rooms, bathrooms, private pool, all needs some major TLC. Cracked tiles, missing tiles, inconsistent shower, clogged drains... Daily house keeping is a lie, its every 3 days. Communication with hotel prior to trip was nonexistent, but once there front desk was extremely helpful! Would stay there again for location alone but rooms bathrooms and kitchen need major renovation.

Communication is terrible. No one ever answers the phone or e-mails. I called for 2 hours about 50 times, I also sent e-mails and never got a reply. I don't know if they do the basic cleaning, but my no one cleaned our condo not even once in our 4 day stay. Other than that the condo is in a very convenient location, it was clean and had all we needed.

Pueblito escondido was awesome!! Everything is so centric. Will stay again.
