Zum Glück verbrachten wir nur eine Nacht dort.

Der Aufenthalt im Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa hat uns insgesamt enttäuscht. Schon beim Check-In wirkte das Personal wenig freundlich. Wir mussten in der in die Jahre gekommenen Lobby warten, bis man Zeit für uns hatte. Unser Zimmer im 4. Stock bot zwar eine eindrucksvolle Aussicht auf das künstliche Wasserbecken, an dem gelegentlich Tiere vorbeikamen, doch der Zustand des Zimmers war nicht überzeugend. Trotz starkem Putzmittelgeruch wirkte es nicht wirklich sauber. Der Balkon war so klein, dass man die Aussicht kaum nutzen konnte. Ein zusätzlicher Störfaktor: Die gesamte Hotelfassade wurde nachts mit starken Scheinwerfern angeleuchtet. Dadurch war unser Zimmer praktisch taghell, und an erholsamen Schlaf war kaum zu denken. Das empfanden wir als sehr störend. Während unseres Aufenthalts veranstaltete das Hotelmanagement zudem eine lautstarke Team-Building-Party mit Lautsprechern und Animation. Rücksicht auf die Gäste war nicht erkennbar – viele suchten vor dem Lärm das Weite. Das Haus vermittelt den Eindruck, früher einmal erfolgreich gewesen zu sein, heute jedoch unter einem sehr schwachen Management zu leiden. Auch das Buffet war enttäuschend: wenig ansprechend, qualitativ durchschnittlich, das Dessertbuffet bis auf die Früchte klar unter dem Erwartbaren. Das Personal wirkte teilweise unerfahren.
