The swimming pool and the gym close too early. I just booked this hotel because of the facilities, it was actually far, but after my working day I just had 30min to use it.

A quiet room was allocated away from the road noise at the front of the property. The bed was super comfortable and plenty of complimentary water was provided.

A live silverfish was found on the bathroom floor during the night - concern that others might be brought home in my luggage and introduced to my own home. The bathroom tiling loos tired (not sealed to the bath and is in needs of refreshing.

The lobby staff were very welcoming, and one cleaning staff member from the Pool area was very supportive. Problem with the Restaurant Night Staff (Dinner Team) • There was a delay in taking our order, even though the restaurant was not busy. • Even when the order was finally taken, the staff member forgot to pass one of the meal orders to the chef in the kitchen, which resulted in one meal not being prepared and not arriving with the others. • The same thing happened with the dessert order. One of us did not receive our dessert. They then had to go back and instruct the chef to prepare it, even though they had already mentioned that the kitchen was closed. • We informed the waiter and another staff member that two additional family members (a father and his 11-year-old daughter) were on their way by taxi and expected to arrive in 20 minutes to check in and join us for dinner. When they finally arrived and sat down to place their order, we were informed that the kitchen was closed and that their order could no longer be taken. This left them with no choice but to go to bed hungry, as it was too late to order takeaway at the hotel, especially since this was our first time in Ireland.

• The dessert was not good at all. The Sticky Toffee Pudding had a stale texture, and the toffee/caramel sauce was not really a proper thick sauce. It was more like a hard piece of chocolate that had been partially melted with a torch or in a microwave, with some caramel syrup squeezed on top. It was the worst Sticky Toffee Pudding I have ever had. • After all the frustrating experiences in the restaurant, it was still not over. We requested our bills, and the staff disappeared and never returned. We then assumed the charges would be added to our room. We all went to bed, as it was getting very late for our children, and we needed to wake up early to prepare for the competition venue. • Forty minutes later that night, while my daughter was already asleep and I was in my pyjamas reading before going to sleep, our hotel room telephone rang. When I answered, a staff member asked me, with no manners at all, to come down and pay the bill. They expected me to come down alone to settle it, even though the five of us had separate food orders. When I arrived at the restaurant in my pyjamas, I discovered that they had not called anyone else down to settle their bills. I then had to call each person individually on their mobile to come down and pay their share of the bill.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location was perfect for us — everything we needed was within walking distance, and the surrounding infrastructure was very well developed. It was also very convenient that a taxi to the airport can be arranged for around €65, which we found to be a big plus. There is a football field nearby, and just behind it a large park with a playground and lakes, which made the area especially pleasant. The breakfasts were tasty and filling. We would definitely come back and can recommend this hotel.

The rooms were clean overall. In one of the rooms there was no sheer curtain, and there was a lingering smell from previous guests, but otherwise everything was great.
