The facilities and staff at Chabil Mar are both top notch. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. The wi fi reception was good throughout the property. All of the staff members was friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel were good although we went into Placencia for most of our meals. The staff gave us several good recommendations for were to eat when we arrived. The concierge also has a wide variety of day trips and activities that they can book for you. We had a very good snorkelling trip that we booked through them. The only potential downside to staying here is that it is a little bit outside of town. We didn't find it a problem but others might. It's definitely walkable and you can borrow bikes from the hotel. There's also a shuttle that can take you into town and back to the hotel later in the day.
Chabil Mar is a really nice small resort. It was well appointed and comfortable. The people are friendly and very responsive. It's close to the funky beach town (we rented a golf cart, but it's walkable for fit). The food was a very pleasant surprise. Only complaint is the internet service, but that's probably not their fault and isn't at all unusual for such a location. We plan to return.
