"Romantic Room in Beautiful Belize"

10.0

We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. The staff were all very kind and attentive. The grounds were beautiful with lots of gorgeous plants. We had a great time chilling at the bar. The bartender Ismael made great drinks and we had interesting conversations about Belize, bird watching, and his life. He really made us feel like welcome friends. All of the food we ordered at the bar/restaurant and through room service was fresh and tasty. Our masseuses were both very talented and the abdominal massage was uniquely tension relieving. I've never had a massage that spent much time on that area. I recommend it, if you're a tense person like me. The room was beautiful. We had the one on the end, so it felt more private, which was nice. We came in the winter, so it was a little too cold to use the public pool, but our plunge pool was warm enough to use one day that we stayed, and that was a lovely experience. The outdoor shower is lovely, too. There were many gorgeous flowers in the garden, and it was lovely and peaceful to sit outside reading. We saw a hummingbird, a mot mot, and many beautiful butterflies from the comfort of our own room. The bathroom was spacious, and both indoor and outdoor showers had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed was comfy and the room was nice and quiet, so we both slept well. The room was very clean, and the nightly turn down treats were delicious. It has been a dream of ours to visit Belize for years. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Ka'ana for making our trip special and for helping us make memories that we will cherish. Belize is a beautiful country with kind people, and we hope we get to visit again soon.

"This resort is tranquil. A nice getaway "

10.0

My wife and I stayed in a suite with the splash pool to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience was 'Awesome'. The resort was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what we needed. Huge shoutout to Christian and the rest of the team — they made us feel genuinely welcomed and made our anniversary night feel truly special. The Mayan Ruins, and Big Rock Water Falls are a must see. Highly recommended!

"Was just ok"

6.0

I wanted to love this resort more than I did. It was branded as a very luxurious experience on the website, but I thought it was a little lackluster in person. The pool, for example, was unheated and quite cold even in the heat because it was hidden in a grove of trees. It was also quite small. The restaurant was also very expensive, and quite honestly I found the food to be a little bland, especially the $35 fish. My husband liked his meal, but I was underwhelmed. The room was okay, but we only had a queen bed so felt quite squished, even though it was spacious enough to fit a larger bed. I will say, the staff were friendly, and even helped us arrange a pickup with our tour group for the next day so we didn’t have to get a taxi (thanks Ethan!). All that to say, I probably wouldn’t return.

"Photo your restaurant bills- they added$"

6.0

It’s nice enough, tho some of the ‘jungle’ magic is lost due to loud truck noise from adjacent highway. The food is good. I took a photo of restaurant bills as I had $ credit from booking with American Express Hotel collection. So when they printed out the stay receipt, not once, but for both dinner meals, $ had been added to the tip. I believe they advertise organic garden tours, but it’s closed/area under construction. My room was fine, though you are supposed to get a category upgrade, which didn’t happen. Pool is somewhat small, especially compared to Itz’ana sister property. Great turn down service, french press, kettle and mini fridge with room to store your own items

"Beautiful tropical garden resort, too far off, too expensive"

8.0

Wonderful little resort in a tropical garden, spacious room, very friendly staff

The resort is not in walking distance to San Ignacio. You need a car (and worse a parking spot) to go there. This makes you dependent on the hotel‘s facilities and restaurant. Be aware that the breakfast included only means a small selection of breakfast choices. Whenever you want something extra eg eggs you pay extra! You pay a 10% „service charge“ on everything, even on the organization of tours, which is quite a ripoff. I did some activities organized by the hotel. These tours (especially the mayan cooking class) are real good, however as a single I had to pay for two people (minus a small discount). Moreover, tax & „service charge“ were added to the net prices mentioned in the flyer. Taken together this makes these tours unacceptably expensive.

"This Is How a Resort Should Be Run"

10.0

Ka’ana Resort is truly first-class. The property is beautiful, the rooms are extremely comfortable, and the attention to detail really stands out. Housekeeping leaves fresh baked treats daily, which was such a thoughtful surprise. The front desk is always responsive and seamlessly arranged two tours plus rides to town and back, making everything effortless. Chef Cesar Rodriguez is exceptional—be sure to ask for his signature ceviche, one of the best dishes we had in Belize. And Ismael Hernandez is a bartender extraordinaire, serving up the best mojitos we’ve ever had. From the service to the atmosphere, Ka’ana left a lasting impression. We highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting the San Ignacio area.

"Great experience, friendly staff! Food was great!"

10.0

The staff and amenities were all great! The food was outstanding and they even offer complimentary fireside shmoores every night. The rooms were well kept and surprisingly, for a hotel literally in the jungle, there were little to no bugs anywhere in our room. An occasional Mosquito but that’s it! The pool is nice and the only drawback is that they don’t have a gym. I would definitely recommend couples stay there if they are looking for a nice, quiet getaway in the jungle of Belize!

"Gorgeous setting. Amazing short ribs. Wonderful staff!"

10.0

Three highlights of the stay for us: meeting the chef Cesar, eating his beef short ribs (cooked all day), and getting a deep tissue massage. Those three are reason enough to come here. But if you need more reasons: We stayed here several nights, first in a room with a plunge pool and then a room with an outdoor bathtub. Both rooms were very comfortable, perfectly clean. I preferred the room with the tub. Hot water, private setting, sounds of birds all around. We loved the beds and pillows. Nightly turndown service came with different little treats each night. We liked the fudge the best. The staff was amazing! Several people pointed out birds for us, suggested we walk through the hotel vegetable garden (where they grow their own farm-to-table produce). We saw more birds in that garden than in the jungle at Tikal! If you visit, seek out Chef Cesar and eat whatever he tells you to eat. He let us sample his pork belly tacos. Phenomenal! Thanks also to the owner, Federico, who we met at the bar one night. He is a master of conversation and hospitality.

"friendly staff!"

10.0

Incredible staff! They are all VERY friendly and dedicated to making sure guests have the best time. Should note that the resort is about a 15 minute drive from the main part of town so either need to account for cost of renting a car or for taxi/hotel transport. But the place is beautiful, pool area is nice, bartender makes great drinks, and mostly the staff are just great people overall!
