Hilton Garden Inn Terre Haute

This was sent to Erica Free, General Manager We were greatly disappointed your pool and hot tub were unavailable for use during our two night stay (January 24th and 25th) at your hotel, Hilton Garden Inn of Terre Haute. We called in advance of our stay on two occasions, January 14th and January 23rd. On the first call, the front desk advised the pool was unavailable and needed maintenance but the hot tub was available. The front desk offered that the pool may become available by Friday January 17th. On the second call, the day prior to our arrival, the front desk affirmed that the pool and hot tub were available and confirmed that the hours were 6 AM to 11 PM. We arrived on Friday at approximately 2:30 PM only to find that both the pool and hot tub were unavailable and remained that way during the duration of our stay. We spoke with the front desk staff each day and unfortunately each member was uninformed of the pool/hot tub status and schedule for availability. These circumstances of pool and hot tub unavailability combined with not current advertisement and staff lack of knowledge are indications of poor management and disregard for the clientele. We conclude the circumstances to be willful since we witnessed another guest inquire about the pool and hot tub availability. She voiced the complaint that she called on Saturday January 25th to make reservations for a Sunday January 26th stay and was assured that both were in operation and available. In our Saturday conversation with the staff, we were told there would be no pool availability since there would not be a service call on the weekend. We had many choices for places to stay in Terre Haute but your pool and, specifically the hot tub, tipped the scales for our decision to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. The unavailability of the pool and hot tub soured our Terre Haute visit. The inadequate management of the pool/hot tub unavailability spoke volumes to us about where not to stay on our next visit.

Awesome property

I have stayed in more than twenty Hilton Garden Inns over the last ten years. They generally offer good breakfasts, nice rooms, and a decent gym. This is the second time I have stayed here in Terre Haute, and this is one of the best—excellent service by all concerned, including the manager who was running the show in the morning. The gym was one of the best I have experienced in the Garden Inn brand. I was especially pleased to find a superb rowing machine that helped me get the day off to a great start. The place to stay when in Terre Haute!

We hosted Christmas at the hotel, so had three double rooms and a suite with a living room. What a great place to make our Christmas HQ. Staff was incredible, rooms comfortable. The suite was fantastic for paying video games and hanging between meals. Hot tub was great, pool was ok.

The elevators are out of compliance with the state as of December 20, 2024. There are two but only one was operating and it made terrible noises as the door opened and shut. My husband is disabled and stairs are not an option for him. The bathroom shower needs a good cleaning and regrouting. My husband became ill overnight. There were no housekeepers available, which is to be expected, but there were no cleaning supplies available for me to clean up the mess in the bathroom. The front desk clerk brought me two bars of bath soap to clean up the mess with. Otherwise the room was clean and well appointed and the hotel itsself was very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was very nice as well.

It was great. Restaurant was okay.

Top-notch staff absolutely the best

We asked for fresh towels and coffee for our room twice (2 separate days) before we received the towels and had to ask a third time for coffee pods for the room. Other than that, the room was very clean and spacious. The lobby was great, and the dining staff was tremendous!

We had a great stay. The hotel is very clean, was decorated for Christmas and staff was friendly.

The property is very clean and cozy.
