Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza, a Member of Design Hotels

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and there was little or nothing to fault. The room was their least expensive double, but although as a consequence not very large it was entirely comfortable, perfectly equipped and with an excellent bathroom. The breakfast was included and was excellent - the kind of spread of meats, cheese, cereals, fruit, toast and so on that one would expect but all ingredients were of a very high quality. As were the excellent hot dishes cooked to order. The staff at the hotel were unfailingly welcoming, friendly and helpful. And the building was all that we had hoped for from the descriptions. Finally, the hotel was a mere 5-10 minutes walk from Santa Cruz and only a little more to the Cathedral and Alcazar. We'd recommend the hotel to anyone and would return with pleasure.

Our only dissatisfaction was not the hotel itself but the hotel restaurant. It has an excellent reputation and we ate there on our last evening. The menu was imaginative and interesting, and our meal was of a high quality. But it was a rather lonely experience - we'd booked for 20.30, the earliest we dared book in a Seville restaurant because they only begin to fill much later. However, by about 21.00 we were the only guests left (only two other tables had been occupied when we arrived) and while the food was excellent the experience was not one we enjoyed in the way we did all our others in Seville.

Location and private parking

Absolutely not pet-friendly, just a boast on the website to attract customers: far from the standards for pet-friendly establishments in terms of approach and mentality. Also far from a 4-star establishment in terms of service and cleanliness.

We stayed at Hospes Sevilla for 2 nights a week before the Feria. We loved our room, which had a separate sitting room and standalone bath. The building itself is gorgeous, and the courtyard and rooftop are both excellent spots to sit and sip a drink. The service was leisurely, which is not uncommon for Sevilla. It felt like a lot of money for what we got but that might be due to proximity to the Feria, where all Sevilla prices lose all sanity. We will certainly stay again when we’re back in town!

A lovely hotel in a very good location a 20 min walk to the centre of Seville. Lots to see and do in the immediate vicinity of hotel. We had a superior room on the top floor, with an exterior view, which was very comfortable. Hotel is built around open courtyards with some of the rooms facing inwards. Dinner was very good although expensive in comparison with local restaurants. Staff were very friendly. We would return.

Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of the old city, and within walking distance of many of Sevilla's main attractions. The hotel has a lovely, relaxing courtyard, a library for sipping wine and a rooftop pool and lounging area. Our quiet room was beautifully designed and comfortable with good wifi. The bathroom was spacious by European standards and the shower worked well with plenty of hot water. The hotel's restaurant was also good and the breakfast was plentiful and varied. The staff were attentive and helpful and made us feel special. A wonderful experience!

Good location,excellent staff, very comfortable room and lovely lounge area. Did not use pool but great set up. Would certainly return.

Stayed for 4 nights in this fantastic hotel a 10 to 15 minute stroll from the old city centre. The hotel is delightful. Built around a central courtyard across 3 floors and exuding charm, it is a beautiful oasis of calm. There is a small terrace area on the rooftop with a pool, suitable for cooling off after a day in the sun. Our room was super clean and comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices. It could get quite noisy in the dining room some mornings as there seemed to be a couple of tour groups staying. Special mention to the staff on reception who were very helpful and friendly and to Rosa in the restaurant for always being ready with a cheery smile and for Pablo who was always happy to help. There were multiple ways to walk down to the main area of the city but the best way is to just wander the back streets, get lost and explore. 15 minutes in a taxi to get back to the airport. I would advise asking reception to book a taxi for you as the hotel is not on a main road and there is very little passing traffic.

Tucked away in the back streets of Sevilla this hotel provided us with the perfect 3 night stay. In fact we should have stayed for longer. Excellent staff and service throughout the 3 days. Very close to some lovely restaurants and of course the sights and sounds of the City. All part of the great Spanish culture.
