The property is gorgeous and well-situated, close to many historical landmarks only a short walk away. The staff is incredibly nice, especially at reception.

Depending on the room, the walls can be paper thin and we were woken up due to someone taking a shower in the room next door, where you could not only hear the water running, but all the conversations that ensued.

A tough review, because there is so much right that I want to give 5 stars, but can't because of a couple of problems. The hotel is a quirky building with a lot of outdoor and common space relative to the number of rooms. I was there in December, so I can't say a lot about the pool or courtyards. Definitely a lot of character- I dont know the full backstory for the building. It is a small hotel- decide for yourself if that's good or bad. The staff was, almost without exception, incredibly helpful. I say almost without exception, because while most of the people we met with would offer to book things for us, there was one staff member who just kept saying to go online and do it ourselves. The locations is good, right in (or at the edge of) the old Jewish quarter. The streets are a maze of tiny roads, with lots of interesting things all around to look at. It is walking distance to the Cathedral and other touristy stuff closer to the river, but not a short walk- figure 20 minutes, assuming you dont get lost. Our room was great- except that our bathtub was completely clogged so when I went to take a shower, I immediately found myself calf deep in water with a lot of someone else's hair floating around. When I called down, someone was at the door immediately with a bottle of Drano (or the equivalent), and said housekeeping would come by to clean the tub. That did not happen until, after a few hours, I called again. Oh, and it is one of those showers that are not completely enclosed and where you end up flooding the bathroom. I dont love that. I liked the free breakfast, but its not a huge selection and stays the same day after day. My advice- if you view it as a 4 star hotel, you shouldn't be disappointed. But while it has some 5 star aspects, it isn't quite there overall.

This hotel has a lot of history and has been transformed into a lovely hotel. We had a very comfortable room. The staff were always polite and helpful.. We had a great breakfast with plenty of choice both cooked and continental. Would highly recommend it for a high quality stay, close to the city centre. Seville is a beautiful city.
