Liked the atmosphere

The beach was closed off. Wish I knew before I booked.

We just returned from our 4th annual trip to Lido Beach Resort. In spite of the beach being dredged this year the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. They're efficiency was top notch. We had to add a few nights because of personal reasons and they did their best to allow us to stay in our suite.The hotel, cleaning service, restaurant and beach staff are all friendly and professional. We will be back next year.

Came from the North for R and R and Sun after a long winter!! Met smiling faces at checkin. Beautiful clean room but Best was our waiter at the pool! Justin! Very helpful with navigating our plans for dinner and whether we were ordering anything or not checked in regularly to see if we needed anything or not! Very helpful!

Lido Beach Resort was an A+ experience! Justin Stehly at the Tiki Bar was exceptional- extremely attentive and helpful! Thanks for helping make our mom's trip the best trip, despite the weather!

Great place to stay! Location was wonderful, easily walkable to St. Armand’s circle. The staff by the pool were very helpful, Justin and Drake were great! Would definitely come back

Very nice place but ridiculously expensive. Construction on the beach obstructed the view. Hotel is very nice but like I said a little too expensive for most people

The price

I attended a medical conference this week which lasted for 4 days. I extended the timeframe anticipating a pleasant warm weather break from cold New England. In anticipation of my visit, I kept checking the website for updates and also looked at prior guests reviews. Needless to say, it was shocking to find day and night Lido Beach renovations underway! The County Beach renovation project, is to, admirably, restore the shoreline and to mitigate extensive erosion and strengthen coastal resilence. No argument there! However, I was paying a higher rate for my room (441) to enjoy a direct view of the ocean. I feel it was dishonest to never advise at time of booking or even at time of check in, that heavy duty construction was underway and would not only compromise my view, but would be exceptionally noisy day and night! Sleeping was challenging and disrupted every night. Plus, the construction workers had bright portable lighting staged everywhere.. The room is not well protected for sound at all. Additionally, although the A/C wall unit is self controlled, it compounds the noise level. When I reported my concerns, to Christian, the evening/night manager, that management had not been forthcoming, and had been fraudulent in their duty to notify the customer, he indicated he had to seek guidance from “corporate” and all they would allow him to do was to drop the resort fees estimated at $250.00 and provide 2 coupons for a free breakfast. That being said, my checkout receipt still included the fee resort and was not removed. This does not speak well of the corporate attitude from The Opal Collection - the owners/management of this resort. I would not recommend staying at this resort until all beach renovations are completely done or your rate is significantly reduced to compensate for lack of sleep. That being said, prior reviews had reported an inconsistent response from staff. This is the resort’s crown jewel in my opinion. I found them to be pleasant, helpful, eager to offer excellent local recommendations. This is the only reason I rate this place at least a 2. Nick at the front desk, the two David’s, bartenders at the bar at the Drift Restaurant, and all the housekeeping staff. The valets did a great job as well. Food and drink at the Drift restaurant was fine. A nice complement of Italian, seafood and flatbreads made in their pizza oven. The hotel was originally built in 1969 and The Tiki Tower has the external corridors of the time. The more recent build of the Palm Towers has the more current setting of interior modern design. To my misfortune, I was in a Tiki Tower corner room which is closest to the beach. The room does have a ceiling fan, updated appliances including a full size refrigerator, keurig type coffee pot, microwave, dishwasher. They give you a bag of popcorn everyday to microwave. It overlooks the adults only pool with two hot tubs. As is common, many adults go out at around 7am to claim chairs with their books and towels, for the day. There is a larger family pool adjacent to the area separated by the Tiki Bar/ Hut, favored for light food and cocktails. If you check in from 3p-7p, reception will give you a complimentary frozen pina colada. The staff stroll the pool area from approximately 2-3p handing out ice cream treats (ice cream sandwich).
