It's on the perfect point of the Baja peninsula, perfectly designed and maintained. We returned after 33 years and find it as wonderful as our first visit. Perfect, not pretentious. We've traveled to over 120 countries and still think this may be our favorite single lodging.

Beautiful setting. Property is old and not well maintained. Lost power and their generator did not work. Door was so warped that it would not close. Drainage from shower and toilet did not work properly causing sewage backup into shower. Staff tried to fix things but problems were more than they could handle.

"Great Old Mexican Stay!"

Great old Mexican hotel. Food choices are limited but there’s something that everyone will enjoy. The service was great and the room was perfect. Quiet, clean and an amazing view on the Sea of Cortez. One word of advice… the road to the hotel is rough. If coming from the south a 4-wheel drive would be helpful but not mandatory. Come from the north. The road is much better. The operator should mention this in their property details.

The website is very misleading. I wouldn't call this a resort. The location is incredible, but other than that you are trapped in a place where you have to rely on the staff who do not do much to help. Our first room smelled like a sewer and when we asked to change they acted like they were doing us a favor. We didn't realize it would be basically impossible to get a ride from Los Barriles to the resort, but when we asked the staff begrudgingly found us a $40 (US) one way ride. We weren't sure if we would be able to get a ride home. The wifi in our room didn't work. The pool was greenish and more scaly than most backyard pools i've seen.

Beautiful views and property is well taken care of. A particular staff member made us feel unwelcome. I would recommend training the staff to be more inclusive in their treatment of guests.
