Everything.. really nice inexpensive 5star hotel

My stay at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center over Christmas started off pretty terrible. I’ll give credit where it’s due: management genuinely did their best to rectify the situation, and I could tell there was effort to make things right once the issues were brought to their attention. That said, this property is a mixed bag in a way that’s hard to ignore. They do a lot of things right. The resort is impressive, the scale is huge, and there are plenty of activities that look great on paper, especially around the holidays. But for every thing they do well, there seems to be something they do wrong, and the overall experience as an overnight guest ends up feeling exhausting. I'll skip the really negative comments and photos because of their efforts. But let me be clear, everything they do is about quantity not quality. The biggest problem is the constant feeling of being nickel and dimed at every corner. Yes, there’s a lot to do, but so many pieces feel like add-ons stacked on top of an already expensive stay. The best way I can describe it is Disney World without the magic: all the crowds, all the upsells, and none of the charm that makes you feel taken care of. What makes this especially disappointing is that this isn’t my first visit. I’ve been here at least half a dozen times over the years, so I’m not walking in with unrealistic expectations. But after this Christmas stay, I honestly don’t know if I have it in me to come back. Maybe after time has muted the bad memories, I’ll consider giving it another shot to see if anything has changed, but right now that feels unlikely.

I NEVER fill out reviews on hotel, but I feel it is very important to do so with this hotel, given the costs and dismal level of service provided. I've been to a lot of hotels as I travel frequently, and I would have to say that this hotel is by far the worst hotel for customer service. They are not professional and make every excuse in the book when they have a problem with their service. I would caution anyone considering this particular hotel as it is not worth the amount of money they charge. I've had better, more enjoyable experiences at much less costly hotels. Stay away!!!!!!

Nice river, well decorated, fun things to do for kids

- I paid full amount 2 months before our stay. 3 days later after the check out I got charged extra over $1500 for the stay again without explanation. And had to sit on the phone for 40 minutes to solve that out because phone numbers in google are not even connecting you to the hotel itself and they keep switching you to other people. MESS - while we were IN THE HOTEL, SPA charged me $195 for services we never used, had to call, wait for refund etc. both explanations where “oops, sorry for the mistake it will take up 10 business days to get back to your account” There are tons of people there it seems like they just count on chance that someone is not gonna see charges. - Within 4 days /5 nights we had room service twice! And had to call them and chase to get towels, water, cleaning, hair conditioner with empty bottles (that they still never refilled) - January 1st, New year morning we are coming for breakfast to their only good restaurant Ohio steakhouse and at the hostess 2 ladies who don’t even say good morning, hello and not even looking at us like we don’t exist (even tho we were the only people at the host), with grumpy faces just throwed at us “follow me” without asking or saying one word! I usually don’t care but this was rude.
