"Tolerable for the centre and one night,"

6.0

Great city centre location, on the Minster square with free parking. Friendly and helpful staff and a clean but small room, especially with 3 beds. The bathroom, though clean was tired and uncomfortably small, even to bashing your head on the sink counter top as you use the loo! No power plugs under the bed head so we had to ask for an extension cable for a CPAP device. Restaurant prices are high so we went out but had difficulty getting back in later having rang the bell & waited 8+ mins, we almost gave up and began to walk around, but they called us back through once open. The window only opens about 3 inches and the curtains are held off by a safety rail, so don't close fully, letting light in. not good when its daylight past 10 with a 4 year old. A reasonable (but not good) price, given the location but could be Much better.

"Value For Money - Staff are a great team"

7.0

Comfortable, central served it's purpose, staff great

Lovely setting off the Minster but the grounds seem to have a few drunks in the area. Seem to be very near the hotel. Saw the police turn up on one occasion from the restaurant.

"Convenient town centre location, room needed refurbishing"

Friendly staff, excellent fish & chips. Great location for the 10K run.

Bathroom was very tired and needs sorting with damp marks on the ceiling and black mould around the bath.

"2 night stay."

7.0

The staff were really polite, friendly and also happy to help. The room was a good size and the little detail of the towel swan was lovely. The dressing gown, slipper and toiletries were a great touch as well. The parking was £3 for no matter how long, however if you bought a drink or food in their restaurant it was free, which was great.

The bed was so firm. Would have been nicer to have a softer mattress, especially when paying for a superior room. There was a dirty ear bud that was left on the bathroom floor. We believe it was the tap water we used but the tea from the kettle and coffee machine tasted awful. We went downstairs, bought a tea and coffee from the bar/restaurant and then took it back upstairs to the room.
