Barceló Corralejo Bay - Adults Only

First time staying at Barcello chain and it will be my last. We booked based on the reviews however a lesson must be heeded to not believe everything that’s written. My reason for thinking this is based purely my experience of the dining at this hotel . I saw previous comments on the food not being hot and this is an understatement, mass catering can be done and served hot as we have experienced it time and time again at big resorts around the world (see my other reviews for worldwide travel experiences). Start with evening meal, usual offerings salads, breads soup- 1st night soup options stew soup or cream courgette. Ok not my fav maybe tomorrow will be better. “Show cooking” slivers of chicken and fish , if you like pork your in luck as it appeared 4 or 5 times. The rest of offerings were cheaper bulked out very plain tasteless, never had mushy bland paella before but first time for everything. Onto the breakfast we thought always some great choices. On the surface the buffet looks great but looking closer it’s mostly bulked out with cheap produce, for example the cereal station has no premium nuts or seeds, the jams are poor quality. The Nutella only came out once. There is egg station but if you want badly cooked eggs then you’re gonna love it. Burned and crispy on bottom and snotty on top. Omelets cooked up within an inch of their life. Bacon very greasy and hot dog or cheap pork sausage, cold beans, hash browns like cardboard honestly I could go on and on and I’m serious when I tell you I’m not a fussy eater. To summarise, if your holiday meal is cobbling something’s together from a poor selection that appears to play to the majority crowd of perhaps dental impaired oap’s then go ahead . We gave night 2 a chance to see if first night a one off but walked straight out, bananas wrapped in the mornings left over greasy bacon and tinned cream spinach was the final straw we didn’t go back any more. Accommodation very nice shame they don’t do room only, but paying high premium for half board when the food is cold and rubbish is not what we consider a great holiday.

Had a lovely weeks stay at the Barcelo Corralejo Bay. The hotel is located just a short distance from the Main Street and you can cross the road opposite to find a short cut to a boardwalk that lines the beach and beach bars. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and polite and the room is cleaned everyday. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

What a great hotel , very friendly and helpful staff. Food is fantastic, spotless throughout the hotel . Very central location to bars , shops and beach . Definitely come back again !

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, which met our expectation in all areas. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, and the quality of food in the evening buffet was excellent. The location is really good, a short walk from the beach and from the town centre. Many of the rooms are on large corridors beside the lobby or large hallways, so sometimes you may hear some noise. Overall an excellent holiday and we would recommend this hotel

Perfectly positioned,ideal for beach or shops, with mostly great staff. Food quality was good but I would have liked more vegetables without raiding the vegetarian dishes. The lobby bar is too small, the bar was overwhelmed after dinner. There were not enough tables away from the noisy entertainment stage for people who wanted to chat or play cards and several areas including those with sofas were not lit. A good, quiet room with lots of storage and a good bathroom with two sinks, but the mattresses were too big foor the beds and thus felt insecure, and I rolled over onto an unsupported bit one night and fell out of bed!

Great hotel high standard offers lots for adults we are 60 and 69 yers old and really loved our stay I did painting and ceramics too

Great hotel. Never disappoints after 12 years visiting. Great location to all amenities. Great staff. Thank you to everyone. Can recommend the Spa.

7 day break. Jet 2 upgrade to Bali bed + Hot tub . We did not use the tub. We loved the Bali bed experience. Understand the pressure is on to process the speedy arrival of new guests. We found the check in experience very professional & practical but would have appreciated a smile or two. Throughout our stay all the employees encountered were superb with lots of smiles and attention to detail with any glitches speedily resolved. Cleanliness was 5 star. The rainy weather created challenges for the hotel to keep any tile slips in check with access to the Resteraunt a particular issue. Detours required where access difficult. The choices at the breakfast & dinner buffet were superb. However the hot plates belied their name with food not as hot as it should have been. Also water was free at breakfast but it had to be purchased at dinner. Also coffee available at breakfast but not at dinner. Finishing your meal with a coffee required you to leave the Resteraunt and buy at the bar. The hotel would benefit from more staff. throughout. Used the gym and Pilates class. Very good & recommend . Evening entertainment almost all above average quality acts but some of the acts were geared for old people with a time warp focus on Elvis. Motown. We stayed here for 11 nights it was our 3rd visit to this hotel We stayed in a pool view room on the 3rd floor Room was lovely no issues We were half board but only had the evening meal on one occasion this was because we enjoyed eating out due to so many lovely restaurants near by The breakfast we had every morning and the choice is really good the omelette are cooked fresh with what you want There’s evening entertainment on every night Our stay was lovely until we came to check out now here is where the issue was I’d read on previous reviews that sometimes there’s mistakes made with the room numbers when paying the bar bill For that reason we didn’t drink in the hotel we prefer to pay at the time But due to the weather on one occasion we ate at the pool bar the bill came to €32 so on the same evening I paid the bill at the hotel reception that evening we paid cash and was given a receipt to which we should have saved When we came to check out the next day I was told we owed €32 for our meal, I explained we’d already paid it the same day also describing who had been on duty They then went into the back to check for a record of this but to our surprise couldn’t find anything ? Surely I thought they must be a audit trail especially when we was give a receipt We was than asked if we had a copy but we was all packed away and had no idea where it was , then we was told after they had made a call that at the time of paying we didn’t remember our room number and had agreed to come back that again was utter nonsense In the end we was told we didn’t have to pay but it felt like we wasn’t believed and this was just a good will gesture That bit really spoiled our stay , how can the hotel not have a audit trail or use cctv to verify our account

As soon as we arrived we had an amazing welcome and our room was just perfect too . Leah ensured all was good with a check up call but we were very satisfied as we are here regularly due to the high standards . Isa at the spa also looked after us and remembers us and it’s those extra touches make all the difference - Lisa makes the best cocktails and even has given me cocktails not on the menu and they are just delicious 😋 Nice to see Yassar again and he helped us for our last day and always remembers us too and gives a warm welcome . We enjoyed seeing Leah yesterday before we left and let her know the standards were still very high . All staff work very hard here and cannot go past the staff in the restaurant and all the staff actually cooking the food Thanks all for wonderful trip .
