This will be a great B&B when it is ready. The inside is in reasonably good shape but the outside needs much work. When we arrived the yard had not even been mowed. The windows were dirty. The steps are in disrepair. The management does not have it together yet They do have a neat museum in the basement..

This is a charming old farmhouse that is full of history. It is a bit out in the country but easy to find. The area is beautiful. The hosts were great and the breakfast was excellent. Very close to Shenandoah National Park.

"Could be very nice but….."

4.0

Beautiful location but inn is not well managed. No fresh coffee the two mornings we were there. Breakfast was 15 minutes late the first day (it was to be served to all guests at 9 am) and appeared to not be cooked fresh at the Inn the second day. We were told there were complementary water but nothing the second day. Hosts appear distracted

"Bed & Breakfast minus the breakfast"

4.0

We were not impressed with this place. From the sour welcome (the hostess didn’t even bother introducing herself), to the strict rules (breakfast at 9am - if you need to leave earlier, you lose it. If you arrive later, it’s already getting cold on the table), to the room - full of tchotchkes but missing the basics: a trash can, a non-leaking bath tub, a tissue box, replacement towels (since there’s no service.) To cap it all, on the second day we dutifully went down at 9am to find an empty dinner table, a locked kitchen and bewildered guests wondering where breakfast was. We and the other guests had to call the owner only to hear that breakfast would not be served since “the cook is sick”. None of us was notified about it, contrary to what we were told on the phone. I understand people get sick, but the owner should have a backup plan, maybe show up with some snacks, or at a minimum show up and explain the situation. These owners simply do not care. You can find better places. The rooms are spacious, the heating is good and the bed was comfortable. This can be so, so much better.

Only thing I saw was the blinds were broken and not working well…. Everything else was fabulous Yard needed a bit of a clean up but it’s still freezing outside so guess that happens in warmer weather. The brewery on the farm was great… good food and bear.

Our first visit to a B&B. We stayed in Uncle Charlie's room. Quite an interesting man. Host was gracious and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Loved the museum in the basement. Thank you for a wonderful first experience. D. YATES

"Lovely Stay!"

10.0

My husband and I spent one night in this charming, authentic B&B. We were greeted by one of the caretakers who was friendly and helpful as he walked us through the house, pointing out the dining room where breakfast is served, the Keurig offering coffee and tea 24-7, the complimentary bottled water and even their pet rabbit! We stayed in the Gold Room which was so pretty and comfortable, complete with a fire blazing in the fireplace. (It was chilly so we really appreciated it!) My husband added on chocolate-covered strawberries which we’re waiting in our room when we got there. ☺️ Breakfast the next morning was delicious and plentiful: French toast dusted with confectioner’s sugar and blackberries (with warm syrup on the side), sausage, and rich, delicious coffee. The cook was the wife of the gentleman who checked us in the previous day and she was so nice (and a great cook to boot). We’ll be back!
