Good location, attractive public areas, good size room, clean, well decorated, comfortable beds and good quality bedding

Hot buffet breakfast not that warm, room furniture and soft furnishings in need of replacing

The room was very large and comfortable with a breath taking view. The buffet breakfast was absolutely outstanding with an excellent choice of cereals, fresh fruit etc. A good selection for continental breakfast and the full choice of freshly cooked items for the traditional English breakfast.

The room was a bit tired looking but perhaps this is to be expected in a hotel of this age. Maybe a deep clean of the room could be carried out from time to time.

Communication after booking was dreadful. I was bombarded with emails reminding me of my stay and asking me to make additions/upgrades to the booking but I never received a single reply to emails which I sent to amend the booking

Het is een mooie locatie en uiterst vriendelijk personeel, ook het ontbijt was werkelijk voortreffelijk, beter dan doorgaans bij ander hotels.

Het pand is echt oer oud en aan de buitenkant ziet het er erg slecht uit, binnen probeert men het er het beste van te maken van wat ooit een zeer lux hotel was.

Brilliant views over the bay. Plenty of room to spread out and sit in the various rooms downstairs. The health club looked to be well set up with a good gym. Breakfast very good. I didn't use the beach or the gardens. We had a sea view room but also sea views from the dinner and breakfast rooms. Steam train and Dart boat trip from nearby Paignton well worth doing.

The hotel had probably seen better days. It was in need of at least a makeover to bring it up to the standard the location needed. Bathroom fittings worked but were old fasioned. The whole place needed a good clean and polish to make it shine. A wonderful view from the balcony with 2 chairs but lacked a small drinks table and a fridge in the room to sit out and look at the view in the evening and the gulls and the cormorants on the rocks below. Good excercise but a steep walk back to the hotel from the town. Taxis in short supply at peak times in the day and no Ubers but good frequent bus services to places around. (We didn't have a car)
