Torquay itself, along with the view from the room, even though the decor looks in need of refurbishment.

Most as it was very dated , dirty , overcrowded room with old , worn out furniture. Flooring was filthy and we didnt bathe or shower as floor was filthy. Left a day early and lost our money. Extortionate prices for basic drinks.

The location with sea views and spacious rooms.

The location is perfect (once you’ve climbed the hill to get there). Amazing building with great views

Our room was like a furnace and our pillows were very soft. The bathroom was grubby and needed a deep clean. Understaffed and was served a cream tea on the terrace, waited ages for it and was delivered without cutlery or plates so used our saucers. Also asked to change rooms and pay for an upgrade but staff said they were fully booked, we were not offered even a fan to help. I was told at reception that there were lots checking out on Sunday but they still were unable to move us.

We stayed in September 24 and July 25, we had an upgrade to a suite. I loved the room and space, ordered a nice bottle of bubbly to sit and take in the amazing views over Torbay. The rooms do need an update, looking tired, but most of all they really need to update the evening menu. I have just recieved an email and from what I remember this menu has been, being served since 24. Dont eat the fish ( steamed) rubber. Lamb is lovely, We are food lovers and expect a hotel to change a menu every 6 months. If they changed the menu, we would go back, just because I like sitting on the balcony, taking in the veiws.

Amazing imposing public interiors, generally very helpful staff. Really comfortable furnishings.

Door key cards appallingly dysfunctional throughout. On the worst occasion it took eleven attempts to access our room, and never worked first time for the whole duration of our stay.

Lovely building, big rooms, nice staff, good food, good location

Slightly dated but in a charming kind of way

Very nice hotel, lots of character, nice room, good facilities and incredible views over the sea. Excellent staff, dinner and breakfast. We all had a great time and will be back.
