Marrakech Riads, Angsana Heritage Collection

I stayed in one of the Angsana Collection's Riads in the Marrakech Medina for three nights and would unhesitatingly recommend it. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the Riad had been restored and decorated with great style and my room was both spacious, clean and comfortable. The first evening I had dinner at the hotel (a different Riad from the one I was staying in) and it was so good that I ate there the following two nights. The restaurant is fully licensed to serve alcohol (unlike some hotels in Morocco) and I was able to sample some good Moroccan wines. Breakfast was served in my Riad and was very good.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming riad right in the heart of the Medina. Its location is perfect, with all the main tourist attractions within easy walking distance. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt very welcoming – the riad staff met us at the drop-off point and escorted us through the Medina to the property, which was a great touch. The riad also provides guests with a mobile phone to help with contact and navigation around Marrakesh, which we found really helpful. The rooms were excellent overall. There was a small mix-up with our room allocation when we arrived, which unfortunately couldn’t be resolved until the second day of our four-night stay. However, once sorted, everything was great. The Deluxe Room was fantastic and the Suite was incredibly spacious, both beautifully decorated in traditional riad style. If we return, we would definitely choose the Deluxe Room again as it was spacious enough. Dinner at the riad was a highlight of the stay. It’s served in the beautiful courtyard and the food was outstanding. Fatima, who leads the restaurant team, was exceptional and ensured the service was first class throughout. The restaurant was fully booked every evening during our stay, so it’s definitely worth booking in advance. Breakfast was also served in the courtyard and featured a traditional Moroccan spread of breads, fruit, and pastries, with a selection of egg dishes cooked to order. Aziz, who looked after us each morning, was excellent. He remembered our choices from previous days and always went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The weather was a little mixed during our stay, so we didn’t get as much time as we would have liked to enjoy the large rooftop terrace, but it looked like a fantastic space to relax. Overall, this is a lovely riad that’s made even better by its exceptional staff. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Das Zimmer, das wir hatten war vom Haupthaus ca. 150 m entfernt und man musste durch eine nicht so schöne Gasse zum Frühstücken bei jeden Wetter gehen, Zimmer sind durch die Bauweise sehr dunkel

This charming and traditional Riad is situated in the heart of the old town next to the Madina. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a good traditional menu. The traditional spa was excellent, so treat yourself.

Beautiful Riads with lovely staff in a great location- highly recommended!

We chose the Angsana riads in the Marrakech medina for our third trip to Morocco. On earlier visits we stayed at a 5-star hotel near the medina—everything new and completely updated. The heritage Angsana properties appeal for many reasons—repairs and restorations are done where necessary but we very much appreciated the authenticity of the spaces. Dining or lounging where many had done since the 19th century added to the experience. Worn tiles and well-used fireplaces added to the histories of the riads. This was the rich setting for the superb hospitality offered by the riad staff. Salah at the front desk checked us in and warmly greeted us each time we returned to the riad. Mohammed and Fatima cared for us in the evening, recommending dining options and local wine choices that blended perfectly. Aziz took care of us at breakfast—remembering our preferences and keeping us plied with superb Moroccan coffee, breads, and fresh juices. We definitely recommmend the Angsana riads to visitors who want the Marrakech medina experience. It is a quiet, very hospitable oasis in the middle of the medina frenzy. All told—a great combination!

Not what it used to be I’m afraid. We went twice many years ago (15) It was brilliant. We went back. Room was OK although they ‘upgraded me to a better suite’ It wasn’t better! So uncomfortable! They had let the room I chose/ paid for! It was free the next day so we moved rooms. It was better. Cleaning ladies are excellent. Food is excellent. But they not looking after roof terrace at all! Sun loungers all wet. No towels. Cushions to loungers soaking! We asked for towels. They arrived. But then they just left them all out overnight so got soaking too? Just not the care it used to have.

Beautiful welcome , beautiful Riads. The location is absolutely perfect. The breakfast was fresh every morning and served by a wonderul welcoming staff member who was so sweet. The lady that kept the rooms clean and the Riad was so happy and smiley and warming. The food in the main reception restaurant was amazing ended up eating there twice. All the staff are fabulous l. The span was lovely we had a Hammond. Nothing to fault all amazing ! Disappointed we don’t stay longer. We will definitely be going back.

From the porter who collected our bags from the taxi, to the reception, the cleaners, the waiters there was nothing to fault the customer experience. I have seldom spent time at a hotel where the staff were so friendly and attentive. The breakfast is authentically Moroccan. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but I wish I had as I’m sure it would have been perfect too.
