JW Marriott Hotel Beijing

We had planned & paid for a JW experience but ended up checking out after six nights with a 2-star hotel experience. Not to express all the pain that we had gone through because that might differ guest to guest but here are few tips to be mindful of - beware of how much your card get swiped for during Checkin. I had trusted them assuming a JW kind of ethics but realised during checkout that we were exorbitantly over charged. And they accepted their miss during checkout. Now even after five days if checkout iam still awaiting refund - make sure if you have booked airport pick & drop then the cab type is properly mentioned in trip sheet. We had booked for Mercedes Benz but during checkout we were asked to sit inside a typical sedan. But since were so frustrated with them during six night stay and had realised that they actually don’t take actions to rectify their various mistakes other than standard apologies, that we were about to board the cab we were asked to board without any more complaints. And then someone on their own realised the mistake and then asked us to get down of the cab and re-board the Benz kept for us. - make sure your room AC works as soon as you checkin because it didn’t for us. - do ask someone from front desk to accompany you to your room during checkin specially if you have travelled by a long haul flight because pretty much like in our case they room key won’t work and you will have to run on your own up & down to get key activated. - also ask them to send your luggage along with you after checkin because for us it had required multiple reminders to have our luggages be delivered to our room. - and don’t take it too personal if they outrightly refuse you for executive lounge access despite booking a room with such access because they probably have a system bug. So don’t feel insulted. In summary, do stay there but don’t keep even basic expectations that you normally keep from a JW because there’s none to listen to you. Atleast that’s what we had experienced despite informing their GM, their sales head, their guest service manager well in advance before arrival on how important this trip was for us. Still, with so many lapses, it does raise a question on INTENT. -

No bar or second Resturant facilities

Ground Staff is not conversing English at all and that makes communication very difficult.

Outstanding hotel. Communication before I even arrived was flawless. Everything they arranged for me at the airport was perfect. Luxury, class and perfection. The staff were attentive, and very professional. Could not expect any more. Great room, amazing business lounge. Nice area, great shopping and dining.

Very well located. Staff super nice, great food at the executive hall lounge on the 20th. All very clean. I’d stay there always!

The only thing I miss was a Toto toilet lol
