Inchture Hotel

Great pub and staff nice. Food good. Value for money. Disappointed to have a very lukewarm shower.

Be warned that this property is "closed" from Sunday night when the bar closes (about 10pm) to Wednesday morning at about 8am. Not mentioned in their Expedia listing and they take hotel bookings regardless so if your thing is staying in an out of the way, fairly down at heel establishment redolent of scenes from "The Shining", then have at it. The bed was clean, fresh and very comfortable though - for the one night I stayed out of the 5 nights I booked and pre-paid for. I checked out as fast as I could but even that is a misnomer - with zero, and I mean nobody, staff on the premises, I just left my keys (to the whole hotel) at Reception and scarpered. I was genuinely just given the keys and told to go to the Spar over the road if I wanted food and drink. As a solo female traveller, I did not feel welcome or safe. Nor did I feel it was incumbent on a paying guest to be ditched. Also - alarmingly - the whole place smells of stale fried fish - thats the special supper on a Wednesday - but it lingers. It's a real pity that guests are not a priority at this hotel because the village is pretty and the hotel could be lovely. Apparently the restaurant is highly rated but alas, closed, and the two teabags I was left with didn't touch sides.

We knew the restaurant was not open on a Monday but didn’t expect to find the front door to the hotel locked on arrival. When someone came to unlock the doors they gave us our key and told us the hotel was completely unmanned overnight. The same person said she’d wait 5 minutes for us to check our room was okay but had left inside 5 minutes. We weren’t happy with the beds as they were uncomfortable. Overall we were uneasy about staying in an empty hotel overnight and were worried should there have been a fire.

Room was big and spacious, bed was extremely comfy and Wi-Fi worked well. Staff were extremely helpful when we required a sewing kit to fix an outfit

Not the hotels issue at all but be aware the actual phone service in the town is poor and you may not get signal for your stay

A superb location with extremely friendly staff and a handy store and cafe within a few minutes walk of the hotel. We were also surprised to find an avenue of California Giant Redwoods just beyond the School!

Our room was a little dark and warm, with sloping floors. The bathroom could do with an update. Small criticisms all in all, which I trust will be helpful.

The was a very good size and would easily take a family.

The restaurant food is excellent with good array of desserts. The restaurant staff were really friendly, and you were able to get tea and coffee supplies from the restaurant in the evening when it was open. The hotel bed was comfortable and room was clean. There was a non-slip may in the shower that was great for older visitors. Also loved the view from our window of the bar outdoor garden area.

The towels were severely frayed. Also it was hard to reach someone if you needed help. Mon & Tues the front desk and restaurant is closed and there is only a convenience store across the road but we had a car which made it easier.

The room was clean and cheap

The bar closed, the restaurant closed, no breakfast, the rooms were a bit dated, and there was an old musky smell throughout the corridor. With the bar/restaurant closed, there was nothing in the area, so we had to drive outside of the village to get a meal.
