Black Orchid Resort

Beautiful property that’s only 20 minutes from the airport, but you feel immersed in nature. Loved the spacious room, restaurant open all day, and lovely staff. We were easily able to book transfers from the water taxi station and to the airport. They are very responsive via WhatsApp. There’s tons of nature to view along the river, but with that comes bugs. Thankfully the restaurant has a large screened in section so you can appreciate the views and the breeze without the bugs.

From reception to restaurant and grounds, staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, spacious and had a refrigerator. Bottled water was provided which was helpful. The Belizean continental breakfast was great, with fryjacks, banana bread and ripe fruit. I enjoyed most of my dinner, but no fish was available which reduced menu options. The grounds are lovely with seating areas near the river and the pool.

A card with extensions to dial for reception, room service and emergency was pointed out when I was taken to my room, but there was no phone, Free wifi was included in the rate, but was not working in my room or restaurant. Because of this, I was unable to check into my flight or access my Netflix or YouTube accounts, limiting what could be viewed on tv through the Roku device.

The Black Orchid is a beautiful property. The staff was amazing and the grounds stunning. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night, but we enjoyed the pool, grounds, and hearing the howler monkeys was an unexpected treat.

Great place to watch nature.

Very nice place to stay to experience the local jungle related attractions near City. Very convenientl location to stay the last two or three nights before leaving because if it’s very close proximity to the airport and airport shuttle. The food was excellent. Had a very nice pool and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

Very close to the airport for a one-night stay. Good facilities: pool, restaurant, parking, spa (didn't use pool or spa but looked nice). Beds were comfy. Towels and toiletries were provided.

Had to ask to move rooms as we were on the ground floor and could every hear movement and noise the upstairs guests made. Staff were lovely and moved us to a new much nicer room. Bedside lamps and toilet light didn't work in the new room. Wi-fi only worked sporadically so the TV didn't work as it relied on the Wi-fi. Wardrobe was in the bathroom.

Great place to eat and relax after a day of adventure!
