The approach to the building was lovely. It was clean. Quiet (in my room) The cleaning and restaurant staff were lovely and helpful. Area was okay. Fitness class I took was welcoming.

Receptionist greeting was poor, beckoning me over with her head, couldn't be bothered attitude, had to ask her to stand up as I couldn't hear her, poor directions and information. Gym was small, equipment very dated and some needed a service. Not safe. Leisure/pool area not exceptionally clean, showers were old and moved around whilst trying to shower, hardly any lockers worked, no hairdryers. The leisure staff service very can't be bothered attitude. I had no heating Saturday evening, I put radiator on as I was going out to meet my son so it would be warm on my return. No heating, radiator was cold, I rang reception and explained. They acknowledged and would deal with it. I was tired, so I had to sleep in pyjamas with jumper and socks, double the quilt over, this was a bad night's sleep as I am autistic and cannot sleep with clothes on. I reported it the next morning at reception when I went for breakfast, explained I was working from my room and it was cold, I had to ask for a heater to be brought down. I worked in my room with my coat on, eventually I messaged the reception via booking.com as I couldn't email the hotel without an itinerary number. Eventually, 4 hours later, I received a radiator. You charged me for breakfasts I didn't have, although I tried to change the amount of people arriving weeks ago, you wouldn't allow it. The bed was two put together, when you book a bed for yourself you want to starfish in the middle, not feel the matress meeting in the middle. The covers didn't fit the bed, nor the quilt fit the quilt cover. There was a large zip down the middle of the quilt, this kept digging in me in the night. When I asked, the lovely cleaning staff, they found me a proper quilt the next day, after asking reception who informed me there were none available. I booked in to complete a course for work at my leisure, also to attend the Guns N Roses set Saturday evening with my son.

The check in process was incredibly slow. We arrived at a similar time as what felt like a coach load of people. Waiting for guests to fill out forms slowed the check in process. Could an online check in system speed the up the process or more staff on reception?

Great location in a peaceful setting. Plenty of car parking and an excellent breakfast . All staff were pleasant and helpful

Sounds can carry through walls if you get a noisy neighbour . Doors bang quite loudly when closed
