Towneplace Suites Marriott Meridian

They are not cleaning the rooms during your stay. So we had to request toilet paper and towels several times. Garbage bags from peoples rooms lined the hallways since they are not emptying those either. The mattress was absolutely terrible, to the point that I slept in the chair in the corner of the living room. The worn out pullout mattress that our child sleeping on was way more comfortable then the king bed was. The room was very rundown. The hotel had a horrible smell. Luckily we were able to open the windows in the room. There was about 3 inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the door to the room. You could actually bend down and look underneath the door and see inside our hotel room from the hallway. We have never been more disgusted at a Marriott hotel. And we have been staying at Marriott hotels for last 20 years. Very disappointed as Marriott members that we wasted our points on this hotel.

The TownePlace Suites did not honor a reservation that had been made more than a month ago, nor the online check in that was made in advance. Instead, they tried to send us back the direction we had just come from 30 miles to a Fairfield Inn. Although they said they tried to contact us, they called our house phone rather than the cell phone in my profile, and did not send the email they claimed they had. As a result, we had to find our own local hotel. Later, we found that the phone message offered a free room at the Fairfield, something that was never mentioned at check-in. Marriott did award us some points, which maintains my loyalty to Marriott, but I will never chance a reservation at this hotel again.

We are traveling again because we think Marriott’s mask and covid safety policies are good. We choose dog friendly properties and really like the TownPlace Suites line. The Meridian checkin clerk refused TWICE to pull mask up over her nose. Other than than, it was the usual good stay. Every other staff person and other guests were masked. We always look for Marriotts first, then Hiltons that are pet friendly. This one was a little more expensive than some other TownPlaces but we had stayed here before…

Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Gym, pool and hot tub area are nice, clean and in good condition. Continental breakfast was ok. The only negative about this place was that the beds were very uncomfortable for us.

The grounds around the hotel - front, back and sides were filthy!! Filthy with dog poop everywhere!! It was very disgusting!! Management needs to pay attention to their guest who don’t scoop the poop. Or have personnel deal with it. It stunk and so gross looking. When I approached the desk clerk about it she just shuddered her shoulders and said “I don’t know anything!!” There must have been days of this poop there without any action taken. Where the heck is management?????

I didn’t like the room configuration. The sink in the bathroom was off center. The closest didn’t have a hanger rod in the entry. The TV was in a weird place for viewing. The bed was comfortable. My sister’s room was cleaned out of all her possessions on our 2nd day of our 4night stay. We were able to get them back with Kim’s help.

We have enjoyed our stay here several times. Comfortable room & friendly staff. We will be back.
