Wotton House Country Estate Hotel

It was a lovely setting in enormous grounds

It was very tired looking and in need of an update pool area was very small and cramped .

Great country house vibe with pretty grounds and good pool

No air-con

The grounds are lovely, location and grandeur of the property. Most staff attentive, but not interested.

Fundamentally this is a function hotel (weddings etc) and other guests are secondary; it shows. Restaurant dinner menu appears the same/very similar as one published in January, we visited in May and is limited in what it offers. The head waiter mentioned other dishes that were not on the published menu when discussing limitations, but these were never made available. While the majority of ceilings are high there is no air conditioning in the main resident areas or bedrooms, which means it is very stuffy and hot in warm weather.

Friendly and very helpful staff in a handsome House with a scenic garden and located in a beautiful area of southern England. Wonderful time. A good breakfast.
