We had a wonderful Autumnal two night getaway at The White Sands Hotel. There are four bay window rooms at the front of the hotel and we were fortunate to stay in one of them. The view of the ocean directly across the road is such a treat. I read some reviews before booking and can now give our own experience. The reception area is bright, modern and welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean with fresh linen and towels. The bed was really comfortable. Yes the bathroom was not modern and the fixtures and fittings are worn but it was perfectly functional with lots of hot water and amazing water pressure in the shower. The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The location is amazing. Hotel prices were so expensive when we were searching, this was definitely the best value for money in the greater Dublin area. We previously stayed here four years ago, we thoroughly enjoyed being back and would definitely stay again. If a luxury bath is your favourite part of a hotel break this may not be for you but for us The White Sands Hotel ticked all the boxes. It was so lovely to park the car, have the beach on our doorstep, take leisurely walks before dining and not have to drive anywhere! We gather the rooms at the rear of the hotel are more modern but we didn't see them. The hotel is on a road and from our room at the front you do hear some traffic noise. This didn't bother us. There was no hot water. We had to leave very early in the morning to the airport and wanted to take a shower to wake up. Got a cold shower and surely woke up. Staff were very friendly and helpful

The property is seriously lacking some TLC. Very dated and poor finish in general. However, the bed was comfy and everything worked. The food is good and the bar area very pleasant with TV screens for catching up on sports, etc.

Location is great for airport.

Overpriced, no working wifi, some unpleasant staff, limited bar food service. Exterior is decrepit, but our room was OK. Not terrible, but would prefer not to stay here again.
