Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge

We went there for our anniversary in February 2019 and were very pleased with the hotel and especially our tour to Bahia de las Aguilas that we arranged thru the hotel. Highly recommend doing this if you are in the Barahona area. It is a pristine, undeveloped beach that will probably not stay that way for long. Regarding our room, There were steps to get to our room which are like individual bungalows. Not sure if they have some that do not have this. Highly recommend booking a massage by the river. It was very relaxing and a beautiful area which is part of the resort.

It was amazing!!!! this hotel is beautiful even though the place needs a little tender loving care regarding renovation for the rooms and building structure. The service was very good and the staff super friendly.

Pros: staff is amazing, food is some of the best I’ve had, views are breathtaking and pool is beautiful Cons: getting there and back will take 4hrs each way and you’ll pay $260 each way if you use the hotel transportation, no beach access, area around the hotel is not for tourists so you are in the hotel all the time, room was basic wish it at least had a mini bar

The River Suite doesnt have a bathroom door to the patio so we have lizards and a frog in our bathroom

Very friendly staff, courteous and efficient service. Excellent fresh food made a la carte. We definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

Property is shown beach front and does not exist . The beach is a few miles away Parking is limited . Driveway,entrance is in bad shape , not paved and not maintained , it's really bad , so bad don't drive your pregnant wife there , unless you want her to give birth there . Charged me $70 plus 28% tax for extra child. Staff starts selling shore excursion at check in after a long drive wh n we just wanted to settle . The place overhaul is nice , the staff is good but the need to fine time their ways and take care of that driveway .

Excellent hotel! We stayed in the ocean suite, our view was incredible! The staff and service was amazing! Thank you for the hospitality, definitely will be returning.
