Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge

The property is quite nice, view is incredible. The only disappointment was that the beach apparently is "not accesible" from their property.

Excellent stay! Dominican Republic is beautiful, if your looking for nice views, Casa Bonita has it all, close to the best beach in the country (bahia de las Aguilas) views to the mountain, river, food, etc.. we will be back.

I travel to DR for business 4 to 5 times a year. I had never been out of Santo Domingo or Punta Cana. I heard about this place from a friend and decided to spend my vacation there. I’m so glad I did! I can literally say nothing bad about the place. From check in being effortless, to the superb service by everyone. I will seek out more small hotels in unique locals, all because of casa Bonita. There were maybe 30 guests besides me and my friend and it felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time. Food was the best I have had in Dominican Republic. French toast and the margaritas were the best I’ve ever had, PERIOD. The views are better in person than in the pictures. Do yourself a favor and plan a vacation here whenever you can. Your future self will thank you!

There was no hot water. They came to fix it and then it went out again. At check in they asked us what time we would like to have our complimentary coffe, juice and toast delivered we said 8am no one came. I called to ask about it, it didn’t show till 9:30 am. The room I stayed in required someone to pick us up to take us to and from the lobby/restaurant area so when the service is slow it ruins the experience. We had cold showers, we called for ice which never came, the room service coffe was served late, we requested towels it took forever. Hotel is spectacular but the service is lacking and the water issue made it a terrible experience. They didn’t even comp our meals or give us a discount for our terrible experience. The manager offered as a complimentary lunch at the hotel thand next day once we returned from a tour and he wasn’t even there that day nor did he leave a note with the staff. We came back and wasted our time they knew nothing about what he had offered us so we left even more upset. The service is super slow and the river suites are far from the main part which with slow service made it worse. To pay all this money to take cold showers you might as well stay at a cheaper hotel.

They gave us the wrong rooms. Room are not as same in pictures. Found cockroach in my BED. Wall light broken reported it and their answer were we know is broken. We paid for a king bed got a double . Food was bad. Very disappointed
