Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge

Casa Bonita has changed the way I would vacation from now on. Small place with huge setting wonderful food, great, accommodations, spectacular views and five star staff service.

My wife and I spent four nights at Casa Bonita, and we loved it. It is a small resort, with service that is probably equal to or better than the big resorts in the east. The staff was friendly, and always willing to help. The food was fantastic, and was available at the open-air, poolside restaurant with a perfect view of the Caribbean sea, or delivered to our room. Ñoño washed the car each morning. We took excursions to see beautiful sites of Oviedo lagoon and Bahia de las Aguilas, and a hike to the Cueva de la Virgen. Great value for the room rate, and if/when we return to the Dominican Republic (we want to) we will stay again at Casa Bonita. Note that the Wi-Fi is slow, and was not accessible from our room. But we enjoyed disconnecting from the digital world, so to us it was not a disadvantage. We did have mobile phone service (voice and data).

Absolutely amazing !!! He place is gorgeous 5 star secluded hidden gem. Coming back every year!!! Wish they would improve their food. But didn't come here for the food. Came here for the drop dead foliage !

Expectacular views in a relax and romantic environment!

My husband and i went for a romantic retreat and that is exactly what we got. There is nothing to do outside the hotel but the mountain views behind you and the ocean view in front you can not ask for more.

I enjoyed my time at Casa Bonita, set in a idyllic location between the mountains and the ocean it offered a nice retreat and a relaxing atmosphere in an eco-friendly package. Nicely laid out, with good service, lots of extras available and beautifully, locally-sourced food. I would recommend Casa Bonita as a quick weekend retreat of for longer stays in which to better explore the area.

This place was amazing! Every room has a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was very comfortable, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly, accommodating and just all-around really lovely. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a hotel in the Barahona area.

We arrived at Casa Bonita very late, to our surprise the hotel staff was waiting for us! We received a wonderful and friendly welcome by the Hotel Mgr, Antonio, and his staff. I think they checked us in quickly, took our bags to our room (very nice since there were a few stairs and were tired). I believe they kept the kitchen open late for us, which was wonderful because we had not eaten. The restaurant was very nice, quiet and we received great service, no rushing at all. It would have been helpful if we spoke some spanish, but we all managed. The next day, after breakfast, we were given a driven tour of the facilities, spa, garden, walking trails, etc. We also visited Villa Miram (?), for a few hours, the hotel provided transportation to and from, and even packed a cooler for us... which was very much appreciated. This is definitely a place to go to for decompressing! We enjoyed the pool, spa, food and hiking! Absolutely beautiful! Take a book and enjoy the views and the sounds of nature, even includes a Rooster in the morning to wake you from your deep sleep!

Everything was good. The food was perfect. The staff is awesome!

as a young couple celebrating aniversary we enjoyed our stay at the hotel . we where traveling around the area and used hotel for resting at night time , very nice , clean and pretty hotel
