Hotel Palma Real

Having meals vertually on the ocean with calming breeze while being served drinks..food was delicious.made to order omlets..desserts were lovely..views were stunning right on the beach .hammock on balcony..mointsin views from behind...entertainment each eve..lots of differant areas to relax...we almosst had the place to our selves untill the weekend where the locals came..what a differance..they didnt clear up after themselves very well.a few limes paper cups left around pool area...well i supposed they like to party.lol but it was cleaned up in the morning...good guitarist in the bar early eve and local dancers... Best trip was the ziplining and canopy tour..it wasnt far and a jeep takes u up mountain where staff help you with safty gear helmet n instructions..then u swim in hot springs..extras was a wonderful massage in a hut with the most tropical views..then u r brought volcanic mud which they rub all over u..we then walked even higher to more springs of differant temperatures..u can choose which one to rinse off.

We spent a week at the Palma Real for a family trip. First four days there the resort was very quiet, clean, and really enjoyable. Rooms could use some updating but is clean. We upgraded to a room with a balcony and we're glad we did. Ocean view out front, mountain view outback. Beautiful. This resort is very secluded so the beach goes on for miles. Ocean is never really calm, always wavy so looks churned up but no seaweed and very soft sand. Food was always good. Sometimes better than others but could always find something we liked. For tours we did Cayos Cochinos and Canopy zip line trip, both were great. Now the bad. On the weekends the resort gets taken over by locals. Literally went from quiet and relaxing to loud and crowded. They can buy a day pass to use the facilities, so they stay right up till the pool closes at 9. Not really what you want or expect when you've paid a lot for an all inclusive trip. This is something you should be told at the time of booking. Since no food or drink is included in the day pass, they pay cash for drinks at the bar, which means all inclusive guests get ignored, and paying guests get nicer made drinks with fresh fruit etc. Even when we offered tips the bar service was not good. We heard Sunwing is pulling out of offering this property, and I can't help but wonder if this is part of the reason why. The city itself is not in good condition but not a lot for tourists to do there anyways. All in all we made the best of it, weather was amazing and majority of staff was very friendly. If you get this property for under $1000 per person it's worth it. But not more than that, it's a solid three star. I probably wouldn't go again, but mostly just because I want to see other countries. Remember it costs $50 US to leave the country at the airport.

The Villas were clean and everything we needed was there. The staff is super friendly and the food was amazing. I will go back! Ceiba is a beautiful place....mostly rivers for me...since the beaches are not that nice...but nature there is incredible

Very nice resort-no lineups for beach chairs, pool chairs or for meals! If looking for r&r this is the place to go. The entire resort was very clean at all times..washrooms all worked and had toilet paper all the time. Rooms a bit dated but quaint. Food was good..always a variety incl beef, fish, pork, chicken, pizza(not great), pasta. Great soups..seafood, mussels, crab and chicken etc. As it rained for the 1st week of our 2 week vacation, suggest that they have a coffee station and liquour bar adjacent to the reception area, as you could not just get a coffee or drink while it was pouring rain when it wasn't breakfast, lunch or supper. The liquor selection could be improved as small selection and no brandy or cognac whatsoever. Marco, Noel, Marjorie very good in the d room. Santos, Teo in the bar..and Patrick animation fellow...they were very happy & friendly & efficient. We were a family of 3 in 2 rooms in the 300's. Very close to everything and recommend it. The pools were lovely. The ocean due to the rain was always murky looking and not clear blue but we are more pool people so it was fine. The a la cartes were good..the Japanese better than the Italian. It is a lovely property. Did the lagoon excursion with kayaks and absolutely breathtaking. Went to La Ceiba downtown and saw the mall(a typical mall) and also some of the sights and souvenir shop. The shows at night are inconsistent and no signage stating what or where something was happening. Daytime activities were also not posted..so suggested that they do so in order that guests can choose to attend. All in all a good vacation..safe in the resort ...security is visible at all times...lovely area!

Have to add Felix from room service to list of super service staff member. The warm smile & upbeat personality everyday was a pleasure. Would definitely recommend Palma Real to anyone looking to stay at such a friendly & safe resort.

Don't let any negative feedback stop you from coming to Palma Real. The resort is great! Hotel is very clean, food is good and the staff are amazing! Yes some things are a bit dated but please don't let that bother you. I loved that it was smaller resort where you didn't have to fight for chairs or stand in lines for the buffet. Staff was so accommodating to the needs we had. A family member was gluten and lactose intolerant the Sungwing Rep. Fred (who is also amazing) had made a letter to give to the restaurant staff and they made a meal every time that was gluten and lactose free. Resort staff was always there for us to help when we needed it. We had an air conditioning issues the first night they offered us a new room or wait to have it fixed the next morning and we decided to wait and the air conditioner was fixed first thing in the morning. My phone had water damaged and they gave me a bag of rice to dry it out. The staff is excellent and I can't thank them enough for what they did for us. It's a great resort if you are looking to relax and have some drinks. The animation team is awesome so friendly every interactive. I played lots of beach volleyball with animation team they are so nice and hilarious. The team also plays card games with you which is great. You really get the chance to make some nice friendships. Beach is clean plenty of chairs and those umbrella thingys. There is a swim up bar too! Bar staff is amazing as well. I would recommend this resort to any family or friends. The excursion staff is wonderful and very helpful.

While in Honduras on a mission trip we stayed here for a 2-night excursion with team members. You must have a perspective of Latin American (and third world) standards for hotels to appreciate this resort. Compared to other hotels in Honduras (and I've stayed in many) Palma Real is quite nice. Compared to other all-inclusive resorts in other countries (and I've visited several) Palma Real falls short. Overall, our visit was a nice change of pace and we enjoyed the low key atmosphere.

Hotel is nice food not to good drinks not enough to pick activity very very bad in one word borring house keeping bad nothing to do in that hotel I will not go back

Smell bad, no phone, no a/c, no tv

I booked the hotel for business. They put in a small room that smelled so badly of mildew and the air wasn't working. Sure this was for the pre paid rooms. After complaining, they moved me to a bigger room with a balcony. The customer service was very good. The room was much better but not great.Could have been cleaner, lots of cobwebs and ants. The all inclusive is very nice and a big draw. The food is good. It has entertainment and the pools were clean. I would come back but realize this isn't the best kept hotel, but great time for family
