Extended Stay America Select Suites - Grand Rapids - Kentwood

They didn’t have the 2 rooms we booked. They only had 1 and wasn’t notified until we got to the hotel.

Room has refrigerator.

The room was noticablly smaller than the one advertised in photos. There weren't any plates, cups or silverware in the "kitchen." The bath tub and walls were stained, faucet was rusted and molding, carpet was stained in several areas, cabinets and furniture are worn out with broken/missing pieces.

The property showed some deferred maintenance and the clientele were coming and going all night long

Breakfast was okay. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Wifi was good.

Someone left one of the luggage caddies with a small dresser on it out in the parking lot. I notified a staff member, but the front desk was shut down and the caddie sat outside over night. In the morning, I made mention of it to the front desk. The receptionist said others had told her about it, but she was short staffed and couldn't retrieve it herself. Eventually someone did return it to the lobby later that day, but it left me with a sour impression that it occurred and how it was (eventually) handled.

There was no front desk. The first room had a broken window. The second had a broken fire alarm that kept beeping. There was no phone in the room (literally had a fake phone). Seemed like a motel in a pit stop.

It was close to a lot of shops and restaurants

The room was dirty and beat up

The location was the only thing that was good.

The property was not clean at all, inside or outside. I felt very uncomfortable sleeping at this hotel and would have left but everything else was sold out.

Front desk was not open at 10pm, people backed up trying to check in with someone going in and out of an office. Conditions were very poor, rusty fridge, missing drawers, bathroom door handle fell off. Fire alarm going off in the middle of the night due to smokers (in a non-smoking hotel/state) If I would have had another option that late I would have taken my daughter elsewhere.

Smells of weed. Dirty floors. Hair in the bed. Hair on the toilet. Rust all over the fridge and appliances. Rust on the bathroom counter. Just all around dirty place to be in.

Service Counter not open late. Late check-in cumbersome. Looks okay from the outside, but tired, smelly and worn out inside. Would not stay there again.
