Airport Gateway Hotel

I like how it was located close to the airport with free bus transfers.

My sister and I stayed in room 101 for 2 nights. The first night she noticed insect bites at her lower back. The 2nd night it was my turn. I did not notice in an instant til I went home and felt itchy at my lower back and the back of my neck. Then i can feel red bumps and continued to itch after 2 days. How long were the bed sheets last changed? 🤨

no hot water. shower was unserviceable after the hot water was repaired. Unable to take a shower at night before bed.

Walls paper thin. Very noisy. Very very budget Rubbish in lobby area /reception from when we checked in was still there the next day Wouldn't come againets clean. Bed Ok

Friendly staff, comfy bed, easy location for where I was working the next day.

The water in shower took forever to get hot and the water just seemed to pour out hard which went everywhere when it hit the bottom of shower. There was no hand towel or face cloth. Dinner was ok but took a long time considering I was the only one in restaurant. I would have ordered something else if I'd known it would taken so long for the burger.

The one thing this property has in the positive is the location being close to the airport with the yellow bus pickup, however being on a busy main road is not conducive to a good night's sleep, unless you are one of those people who is not easily bothered by noise.

The photos and information about the property are outdated as is the property itself. The staff are not overly friendly in the reception area or restaurant. If you arrive after 9 o'clock in the evening, you will not be able to get any food at the restaurant as it appears it closes earlier than indicated and there is no room service available after this time. The hotel itself is tired and outdated with many of the furnishings being unkept (i.e. wobbly table legs with the varnish pilling on the top of the table, the curtains are marked with stains with the net curtains underneath being well short of the main curtains. One window in the room did not appear to latch properly. Although on the face of it, the room appeared clean, on closer inspection the carpets are not very clean around the edges of the room. The double bed is simply two singles pushed together so this is not very comfortable if you prefer to sleep in the middle area of the bed. Although towels were provided, there was no bath mat, or face cloth, so perhaps you have to ask for them? There is also no cold water supplied in the fridge. You can purchase bottled water at the receipt area, however if you ask for a pitcher of cold water from the restaurant, they will provide it, however this should be provided as a matter of course. The building appears to have leaks as there was a bucket catching water in the middle of the hallway and it was obvious from signs on the ceiling that this has been occurring over a long period of time, rather than just having occurred. It is clear little money is spent on the upkeep of the property inside or outside. Although cheaper than other options available, you get what you pay for, which may be suitable for some people.
