The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, A Vail Resorts Property

Heard lots of bad things about the property, I did not experience any of the bad. The stay was about average, nothing stood out as " wow/amazing" stay. I would recommend, but I would probably stay elsewhere next time. The staff was friendly and not overbearing, although I did call a few weeks in advance of my trip and spoke to front desk employee, who told me each room coming with "free" parking, that's not at all true, parking is $30 a day.

Great location for skiing CB. Personnel friendly, professional and helpful. No resturant on premises , but shuttle service to CB center and close restaurants were easy to access.

I stayed at The Lodge At Mountaineer Square hotel in Crested Butte, CO over the weekend of 11/30 in room 601A. My finance proposed to me over the weekend and we had a great experience until I checked my credit card statements. We were charged a $250 pet fee, but we don't own any pets. I asked the front desk to reach out to management for me twice, once on a phone call placed on Tuesday 12/3 at 2:01pm at then again on Wednesday 12/4 at 11:03 am. I was told the person handling the situation was out sick and that I should call back later. My fiancee called in today 12/5 and someone named Dawna, claimed that there is pet urine on the floor in the room. Again, this is impossible since I don't own any pets. After a fourth call, I was provided an email address for the manager. I asked the manager for assistance, and he said he would call me back the following morning. He did not. We called, left a message, and in an hour, he returned our call. On this fifth call on 12/7 we spoke to Michael Laird, who said he did not have proof of the damage but was only willing to refund us half of the fee. This is fraud. There's no way to prove our innocence in this. All I can say is, if you decide to book the trip to stay here despite this warning, at the very least, take pictures of your room for evidence when they try to scram you.

We arrived late, so first off, had trouble finding parking and had to go to the neighboring hotel to check in and then pay for underground parking as the only option once we got to the room, it was nice and cozy.

The staff at the hotel is excellant. Very accomodating and friendly. This is an older hotel but it is clean and well maintained. We had a mini suite which was perfect for a one week stay. A lot of the shops and dining in the area were closed for the season as it does every year. Crested Butte is beautiful but to really enjoy all it offers in dining and shopping and other experiences you need to check the seasonal hours as most closes in Oct-Nov. We would have enjoyed the area more if things had been opened. As far as the property though I would definately stay there again.
