Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn, an IHG Hotel

There was an event during check-in that managers said they would provide a stay discount for. Don't know how that happened or will take place yet. Other than that,stay was good.

I did not like listening to barking dog early in the morning for hours off and on. Also no refrigerator or microwave in room. At front desk staff person Kayla was nice and handled all problems quickly. Our room was changed to a floor where there were no pets. We also had a microwave and refrigerator. Kayla should receive a raise and a promotion. She is concerned about the comfort of visitors.

Dated property, staff unwilling to extend checkout to 12:00 noon (FYI noon is the normal checkout time at most properties). Lobby also had a slight but detectable odor. But aside from that, it's a typical run-of-the-mill Holiday Inn Express.

Worst in years. Bed was like sleeping on an ironing board.cable service awful. One elevator for an 8 story hotel. Only highlight was a quality breakfast. Bath room lighting Awful. Sink semi plugged.

We enjoyed our stay, the only less than perfect parts were their single elevator was sometimes a long wait and the ice machine by our room was very loud at 7am. The breakfast was good, even organic fruit! The check-in was efficient. I would have liked a notice that they had bottled water at the front desk, I only learned of it from another guest.

Cons- one small elevator that gets congested during the day, guest typically use stairs instead of waiting. Rooms will have residual hair, dust and dirt from previous guest. We even found makeup smeared on bathroom walls. Sheets had several holes. NOT a well lit, modern, updated hotel Pros- Pretty good complimentary breakfast selection. Good location to access different parts of downtown Brooklyn with little commute. Staff is overwhelmed but will attempt to service guest at his/her best ability.

Towels were dirty, room's phone didn't work. The location was great.
