The Lodge at Spruce Peak is a wonderful property. It is not currently being managed well.

While the property certainly deserves to be super popular, I think the management needs to make sure the service provided stands up to the prices they are commanding. When I pay $1,600 PER NIGHT for a relatively standard sized hotel room, I tend to expect excellent service. I paid more than $3,000 for at two night stay where I had to wait until after 4pm to check in, we waited several hours for my bags to appear at our room (the valets were so slammed they couldn't get to us, my husband ended up going to the lobby and finding the bell cart himself and bringing it up alone) and several hours for our car to be pulled around. If you're going to increase the prices that much over February break you really need to hire extra staff to help.
