Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana - All Inclusive

I am beyond disappointed with our stay at Dreams Royal Beach. What was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation turned into an incredibly frustrating and disgusting experience. Our original room had visible mold, a strong mildew smell, and overall poor cleanliness. The bathroom didn’t even have a vent, which clearly contributed to the dangerous amount of moisture and mold buildup. We were traveling with our infant son, who is sensitive to mold, and after two nights in the room he developed a skin reaction. We immediately raised concerns and showed photos to the concierge and cleaning staff. Instead of taking the issue seriously, we were repeatedly dismissed. At one point we were actually told the mold was “part of the design.” I had to explicitly tell them not to insult my intelligence by pretending visible mold and mildew stains were intentional décor. The concierge was also incredibly condescending and later tried to frame the situation as though I refused the second room because “I didn’t like the view.” That is completely false. I refused it because it ALSO had mold and the same mildew smell. On the second day, after finding additional mold and after my baby reacted, we asked for another room yet again. The replacement was somewhat better, but still had mold present. What made this even worse was the attitude of nearly every staff member we encountered. No warmth, no hospitality, no urgency — just dismissiveness and attitude. It was honestly shocking and such a stark contrast from previous visits I’ve had to the Dominican Republic. The food was also very underwhelming. Room service portions felt rationed, as if they were intentionally avoiding sending complete meals or proper portions. The pool itself was nice, but there were never enough chairs available because the resort did not enforce its own “no reserving chairs” policy. Guests would reserve chairs for hours, leaving families wandering around wasting vacation time trying to find somewhere to sit. The most upsetting part of all of this was how the mold issue was minimized and dismissed despite us traveling with an infant. A clean and safe room should be the absolute bare minimum expectation at a resort of this level. This resort completely ruined our vacation.

Beach is beautiful, rooms were impeccably clean although a tad dated decor wise. Beds were comfortable and room overall was very spacious. Food was very good but limited on selection. Themed restaurants were very very good, especially the Mexican and Teppanyaki. Entertainment team did a phenomenal job and appeared well organized. Pools were refreshing and clean, didn’t appear cloudy or stink of chlorine. It did suck sleeping in cause you’d not be able to get a chair anywhere. 9/10 staffers were pleasant and friendly. Pretty consistent experience anywhere you go these days. I would definitely go back but spread out my visits as it’s pricey and a bit restrictive without preferred which is even more money.

This was the best vacation we have ever been on. We went for our honeymoon and enjoyed every second of our stay. The staff is impressive. They are friendly and anticipate your every need. The resort is unbelievably clean. The variety of food and atmospheres is fantastic and the waitstaff was always friendly. Our room was literally a dream with a pool and jacuzzi on the back patio . Highly recommend this resort if you want to relax, unwind and reconnect with your loved one. We can’t wait to go back!

The resort is gorgeous and Billy from preferred club was top notch however that was the only good part of our trip. Myself, my husband and our 11 year old all wound up violently sick from what the ER told me was bacterial food poisoning. I would steer clear from buffets.

This was our second time staying at a Dreams Resort (first in DR). The food and service were great! The rooms were clean, the food was fresh and varied. I had no negative interactions with any staff. The resort itself is well maintained. My only complaint is the one outdoor bathroom per gender by the main pool. That’s inconvenient especially when you have a small child.

Just come back from a 11day stay at dreams royal beach.What an absolute gem of a place.So clean ,amazing beach,stunning grounds and such friendly and polite staff.Our room was cleaned and towels replaced daily.We stayed in the older style rooms facing the garden in block 5.This was not a problem and more than met our needs.Mini bar stocked.Foodwise as my son is quite a picky eater we only went to world cafe..and the seaside grill.Breakfast lunch and dinner there was more than enough selection to cater our needs..my only slight moan would be that some days the food could of been a little hotter?? This though should not put anyone off was perfectly edible just maybe I got there at the wrong time.Seaside grill was pleasant again but don't expect Mitchelen star standards but still of a good enough quality to satisfy our taste buds.Entertainment staff were brilliant at there jobs so energetic and happy Waitresses wether on the beach or sat down were always there to serve you.From start to finish everything was almost perfect.What an amazing place.

My experience with dreams royal was amazing. Especially because of Rissa & Tarzan. The love and energy was more intoxicating than the drinks at the bar. The pool bar Dolores was amazing as well.

Great location at the beach! Tons of amenities and you almost don’t want to leave the resort! Bars, Pools, Club, DJ’s at the pool and beach, fire dancers at the beach, staff is always friendly and very clean environment

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dreams. They afforded us every opportunity to unplug and relax. Our Primary interest is to have unfettered access to Surf and Sun with little worry about day to day needs. We value outdoor time and landscapes as well. So the landscaping (being surrounded by palm trees and water) was very inviting while keeping modern amenities within reach. Surprised to find a boardwalk and lagoon between facilities that was teaming with wildlife. Room accommodations were spacious yet comfy while being only a short walk away from the sun and water. We liked that our balcony was private screened by palm fronds. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Food offerings were abundant and scrumptious. D.R. is the destination in our vacation choice and the first letters of Dreams. They know how to do vacation time.

Returned recently from our 4th visit to this resort, this time staying 2 weeks. As always we had a lovely and relaxing time. The suites spacious and comfortable with lovely beds. The bathrooms starting to show some age now though and could do with a refurbishment. The food and drink options were good. We especially enjoyed Portofino Restaurant and the Seaside Grill. There were also plenty of options at the World Café buffet, both for breakfast and lunch. We also enjoyed the night entertainment a lot, especially the Queen Tribute act and the Dominican Show. 🇩🇴🇩🇴 The staff are the resorts greatest assetts though, incredibly hardworking and always with a smile. We have a few members we would like to mention... Carlos, Nurkiara and Alexander at the Veranda Bar - kept us well hydrated and with a great sense of humour. Raul at the Tres Colores Mexican Restaurant - lovely guy! Ernesto, Kenia, Edwin, Wilfredo and Freddy at World Market buffet - always very service minded. Nelson at Portofino Restaurant the same. Delores and Sammy serving us by the pool. Daihana greeting us at the Mercure Restaurant. But most of all... the lovely Francy at World Market and Seaside Grill. Couldn't do enough for us and a perfect example of a great customer service. Always give a little bit more than the customer expect. Gracias!
