The rooms/suites are comfortable enough. There's a bit of a "wow" factor when you walk into a deluxe lakeview room, but it never really bears itself out. The decor is dated and aging, and the bathroom is strangely laid out and not air-conditioned, which makes for uncomfortable visits during hot weather. The grounds are scenic, with cottages clustered beneath towering trees and an attractive palm-lined pool area, but the lake (and any "lakeview") is purely an after-thought. I was on the half-board plan, and the dinner and breakfast were both buffets. There was plenty of choice and the quality was satisfactory.

Overall, the property felt dated and un-exciting. It's 30 years old (20 under Cinnamon management) and it's starting to show its age. Other than the pool area and a little-used jogging track, there's very little to do. The hotel shares a spa (located in a hothouse glass area) with its sister property, Habarana Village. My biggest complaint was that it just felt boring and lackluster. At that price point, you expect something more.
