Our room was amazing - top floor, excellent view and service. Always felt very safe… Best sunsets… swimming pool - super nice and comfortable. All the hotel services were amazing! We’re definitely coming back!

If it weren’t for the spectacular location, this would be a 2-star review. Check-in was fine and easy, except communication was a bit of an issue. I don’t speak much Spanish and they don’t speak much English. My biggest issue came from a lack of customer service and noise. They LITERALLY started construction above our room at 9:30p, wrapping up after 11:00p. No joke. I’m talking power tools, ladders being dragged, workers taking over the noise, etc. when I called the front there was not even a hint of an apology. Other random bits of annoyance include a bathroom that permanently smelled of sulfur, room service but no menu provided, all extras (massages, food, wine, etc) could not be charged to the room, a front desk attendant who was only nice to my husband, watery coffee, and then some. But the terrace? SPECTACULAR. The spacious room and bathroom? FANTASTIC. It’s a high-priced, boutique hotel on the malecon. They need to do better.

I’m really not sure why Casa Lucila is not among the top five hotels in Mazatlán. My husband and I stayed here during our recent visit to view the total eclipse on April 8, 2024, Mazatlán being amongst the top viewing destinations along the path of totality. Casa Lucila is a beautifully restored and immaculately clean boutique hotel, located in a prime destination along Mazatlán’s famed malecón. Service was excellent, and I’d like to give a special shout-out to Fernanda, who really excels at customer service and hospitality. My husband and I have been visting Mazatlán for over three decades and have stayed in many different accomodations in this whimsical Mexican port city. Casa Lucila is hands down our favorite place to stay. Although it’s a bit pricy, it's more than worth it. I give my highest recommendation to Casa Lucila and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
