Hotel Mercedes Hamburg

The hotel located near the main train station. You can easily walk to the Alster Lake Area from the hotel. The hotel services are basically ok. If you especially search for an inexpensive and safe hotel, the Hotel Mercedes will meet your requirements.

St Georg area. Not far from main railway and other transport plenty bars and restaurants too. Was a lot of dodgy types going about after dark though.

Ick! Hotel room was not too clean, run down and in a seedy neighborhood. I always stay in basic European hotels, not fancy ones. The room was dark, a little dirty, hot, pillows were lumpy. Hotel is close to the main train station and within walkable distance to most things. I would not recommend staying here.

The neighborhood is quite spooky during the night, the rooms are small and the staff is rude. I spent three days at the hotel, was placed in an "emergency exit room" (a room that can be accessed by anyone pressing the emergency button). the room was small with dirty furniture. after pressing the wrong button next to my door, an alarm started and the staff was busy showering me with abuse rather than helping. just avoid it.

The hotel itself, rooms, staff etc are fair value.

Sorry that there is no fridge in the room. The lift and shower cube seemed a bit outdated but it was okay for a day stay.

Overall clean room and bath room and a pleasant experience; the elevator only operates between first to fourth floors, not fun as we were on the fifth floor; the neighborhood was terrible and dirty, possibly worst part of the city, drunks and hookers were easy to spot, it you don't mind, great place to stay; only 5 minutes to central train and bus terminals.

This hotel was acceptable for a short stay. Location was ok - near the main station and some attractions. However, although Hamburg has a great reputation for being safe, the area right around this hotel did make me a bit nervous. The room really needed a top up of paint and some better decor but there was a decorator working two floors down while I was there. Breakfast was a bit basic but the dining room was nice. There can be quite a lot of noise at night, especially if you are in the room next to the lift. I was woken up a couple of times by guests coming or going. Also, if you have a street view you will not be able to hear yourself think if you open the window!! On the plus side, the beds were really comfortable. There was also plenty of heating (it was a December visit for me). The staff seemed pleasant too. Undecided on whether I would stay there again.

This room was adequate, but basic. Modern bathroom.Breakfast ok. Neighbourhood was a little seedy but walking distance from station.however good value for money!.
