What a find. A small family run Hotel comprising well appointed guest suites, a shared pool with a breakfast/dining room overlooking to olive groves in the rugged valley running right down to the coast. From our initial welcome by the owners Stelios and Stella to the minute we left we were made to feel most welcome. Stella is a mine of information on places to visit and things to see and do (but I never did find out what luck would be coming my way by being able to reach the water with the ladle in the local village). Read and believe all the reviews - you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for beautiful scenery, superb food, nice weather and genuine friendliness and warmth from the locals visit Crete before everyone rediscovers it again.
We came in late - but our host organized everything regarding dinner and upgraded us into a bigger suite. Great place to be if you need a relaxing place near Iraklion. The breakfast was outstanding and prepared with "Love". Thanks!
Our hosts were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was wonderful. The room beautifully appointed and the location with its views over Heraklion & the coast awesome.
We stayed for just one day as we were en route to another destination. We found the welcome to be as warm as we have ever experienced. The owners are kind and helpful. The facilities are luxurious. The area is quiet, with wonderful views towards the sea, and close to a wonderful taverna. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.
Wish we'd spent more time here and less time/money on Santorini! Vergil Epavlis is 'out of town' and an oasis, a haven of excellence! Stella and Stelios are charming and talented hosts. Food, views, walks are all great.

Honeymoon suite was gorgeous. Secluded boutique B and B with incredible views and very attentive owners. Breakfast was delicious!
We loved everything about Vergis Epavlis - the spacious, comfortable and immaculate rooms, the extraordinary views, the wonderful, fresh and abundant food, the fascinating places to visit within an hour, the friendly team - and, most of all, the well judged, warm and wise hospitality of Stella and Stelios. We felt ten years younger after a week in their tender care!
Had only booked for one night as we were on our way west, but couldn't have found friendlier hosts, or more perfect stopover. Superb service, amazing rooms, gorgeous views, nothing more to add!
Minus: Anfahrt auf schlechter Straße; teils abgewohnte Einrichtung (Ferienhaus Flowers- Schlafzimmerschrank, Badmöbel); keine Steckdosen im Bad!; Frühstücksraum sehr zugig; Frühstück kein 5-Sterne Niveau; sehr sparsame Bereitstellung von Toilettenartikeln- nachfüllen mehrfach erst nach Anfrage; Pool wurde nicht beheizt, so nicht nutzbar; kein Fitness und Wellnessbereich jederzeit nutzbar- für Hamam muss erst jemand aus der Stadt geholt werden; es wird nur Englisch gesprochen; Fazit: nur zu empfehlen für Passivurlauber und in der warmen! Jahreszeit, unbedingt Mietwagen erforderlich, da die Wege zu Sehenswürdigkeiten/ Stränden sehr weit sind, außer Wandern kaum Freizeitaktivitäten, Englisch sollte man können;
