Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Rocky Mount by IHG

It was clean and inexpensive.

Terrible experience. There were bugs in our room - when we told front desk, all they did was provide us a vacuum.

Booked a king bed, with sofa sleeper. Received 2 queen beds. Key cards had to be reactivated twice because the front desk set the wrong dates and times twice. Room was extremely warm even with AC set on 68 and run on high. Front desk help was cordial at best. No apologies or explanation for wrong room. No apologies for card reactivation. Room was not worth the price. It was very clean though.

Needed a quick overnight at reasonable price and this served us well.

I booked this hotel to stay at while attending a local concert. However, I made a mistake and booked Friday night instead of Saturday night. I called the hotel on Friday and explained to the woman who answered the phone what my problem was, and asked if I could switch my reservation to Saturday night. She reiterated the cancellation policy, and then said there was no availability for Saturday. I asked if there was a manager to speak to, to see if they could offer any remedy. She said she spoke to her manager, and there was nothing they could do to refund the fee unless they sold the room on Friday. I understand the mistake was mine, but this did nothing to encourage my loyalty to Holiday Inn or other IHG properties. Seems the bottom line of money is all they see.

Average hotel, other than the elevator was broke down and we were on the third floor

We arrived late and noticed the room had a stuffy feeling. We guessed it might have not been used recently. In the middle of the night we woke up feeling damp and my husband’s asthma was acting up. The room was very humid and even the carpet felt damp & gross. When we showered the moisture clung to all the surfaces. We had plans to stay a second night since we were visiting family in Rocky Mount, but decided to check out and took a room in Roanoke. When I spoke to the staff at check out all she said was “Sorry, I’ll put extra points on your account”. Never again

Bath tub was not able to be used, very clogged drain. But breakfast buffet was amazing!

The breakfast here was especially good and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable
