Holiday Inn Express Zhengzhou Zhongzhou by IHG

I was very pleased with this hotel and have no complaints. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a variety of foods to choose from. The staff was the best, which is my reason for a five star review. I felt very welcomed and attended to. The location was perfect for the purpose of my trip. This hotel will be my first choice when I return to Zhengzhou. If anyone complains about this hotel then they are simply to picky.

First three nights we were told that There is NO Air Conditioner. Then we met the Floor Manager Ms.Nancy Liu who shfted to another romm where AC was working and it had a great view too!!!

Room is small. Bathroom is hazardous. Paper holder is sharp metal which cut my butt. Your fingers will be jammed on door, guarantee, despite a warning sign they put on the door.

Stayed there for one night. It is a nice and clean place. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable. The non-smoking room is truly no-smoking, unlike many other hotels in China when non-smoking rooms smell like a smoking room. The breakfast is decent. Hotel staff is friendly. They helped me get a cab when getting a ride is hard sometimes.

We had a great stay: friendly staff, clean and well maintained rooms, and a decent breakfast buffet. Check out the park a hundred meters away down the road, it's a beautifully landscaped place full of weird and wonderful things. Will definitely be back!

Key point: Air conditioning in this and many other hotels is room specific not systemic to the whole hotel as I previously thought, I had a bad night followed by a terrible night because the AC was so weak.. I figured it was just the whole hotel's bad system and packed and was going to change hotels. But on way out I was chatting with another guest who said their room was really cold. So I asked to switch rooms which they did and it was great!! Had a great sleep!! Great AC in the new room on 10th floor. So really depends on the specific room. Everything else was kinda OK. For the money it was a steal. At breakfast you will get the calories you need but don't expect to really enjoy it. I travel with my own Costco/Starbucks Espresso blend coffee, brew cone and paper filters and favorite mug so I had a great cup of coffee every morning with breakfast!!! But this was a result of my own preparation and ingenuity and no thanks to the hotel (other than the water boiler which every room in China has).

Decent rooms, clean, but a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was standard HIE China fare. Good, but nothing special. Wi-Fi tends to fade during the day. I would not rely on it for business use. Unlimited bottled water was very helpful in the hot weather. You may want to pay a little more for a better experience. If you have the budget, Le Meredien or the Marriott are the top rated hotels in Zhengzhou.

It is walking distance from the central shopping district on Jinshui and Weilai, as well as the Bank of China with foreign debit card friendly ATMs. The breakfast buffet is average, as with all HIE's in china, and there is unlimited bottled water for your room.

Not very conveniently located. Staff were a little unfriendly. Very little English spoken. Breakfast was limited for Western guests but there was a very good selection if you prefer a local Chinese style breakfast.

Was surprised how basic the room was (no fridge). Was just there overnight, previously had spent 4 nights at the next door Sofitel the previous week and have no hesitation in saying to westerners spend the extra and stay at the Sofitel!!
