Very expensive

Very helpful staff, quiet even though our room faced the harbor. Clean, comfortable rooms, breakfast included. The hotel also was the location of meeting point for harbor cruises. So it got crowded in the area hotel people get to eat breakfast... some cruise people took advantage of the situation. There is a nice 24-hour souvenir shop i n the lobby. Location is convenient, but you may have to walk a ways.

The hotel is strategically located. You can take the free shuttle to town, and it is close to restaurants, convenience stores, and the cruise terminal. The view of the harbor from the room is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, but the hotel is dated and could benefit from a renovation. The breakfast is basic, but it is perfectly adequate for a short stay.

A very old run down hotel , there’s no Aircon , all bed n furniture , lightings very very old , like haunted , not worth the money , ripped off rates

This review is for the hotel and not the tours, which were great. I was a bit underwhelmed by the hotel room which was a bit motel-like as felt rather dated. The door to the balcony has those internal blinds in the glass panes that allow light in and won’t completely close, so if you’re disturbed by the light (mid summer!) bring an eye-mask. Views from the window and balcony are exceptional! This is the hotel’s major selling point plus its superb location across from station, and right on the harbour. I loved watching the evening’s catch being weighed and whoops of delight when there was a big halibut. These would be my improvement points: - remove all the Single use items (plastic wrapped everything) - this when signs up saying they are protecting the environment. It leaves a bad taste. - breakfast area was uninviting and the sign saying hotel residents only is ignored by tour guests blocking up the area (and often helping themselves to the included free breakfast for guests!) or eating their own take outs. No free tables so was forced to take the simple breakfast back to room instead. Hotel needs to respect their guests first- - so suggest a sectioned off area that is STAFFED and a separate area for tour guests who should be directed away from this area to their boarding lounges. - Some chaos on check in with our bags at one point nearly being taken BACK to the ship we’d just got off… luckily we happened to be passing by when we saw this happen and avoided that close call. I can see luggage mishaps happening as staff seem a bit stretched on reception at pinch points during the day. Perhaps separating hotel from tour desk and their crowds would be preferred. Having said all the above, I’d still say location trumps everything and if you are on a cruise it is very convenient.

Free parking and location. Breakfast was ok- bit disappointed in standard of food for price of hotel! Our most expensive in Alaska. They let us park up at 12 on arrival when room not ready till 4.

Loud aircon. All felt bit shabby, pool needs painted.
