Holiday Inn Express Hotel Vernal by IHG

Our room was nice. They are remodeling and it will look a lot better when they finish.

Even under construction it was nice.

This property is under major renovation. We stayed a month ago as well. Beautiful new room, hot breakfast is back. No noise from construction.

Nothing.

The room was dirty to when we put the bath towel down it was black after it got wet. The phone was broken, the whole hotel was under construction that dust and other debris was everywhere and even in the air. Syrup was put out for breakfast but it's not even a full breakfast. And the price for just a place to rest for the night was not worth it. And the pillows are the worst ever.

This property was under a major renovation, which was noted when I booked, thus the 4 star. We were on 2nd floor which most of which was complete. Our room was very nice, all new everything. Bed was comfortable, very clean, no noise from construction. The breakfast was continental as construction did allow for full hot breakfast. No problem for us.

The breakfast was very good. Lots of choices and most were tasty. The omelets were dry and rubbery. I especially enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable.

We new they were renovating so expected noise and activity. When we got there, the front desk told us they were working on floors 1 and 3 but 2 was just recently finished. The new look Liked the new look they're going for but whoever is due contracted to do the renovation is very sloppy in some of their work. The bathroom woodwork cuts didn't match and it lot of spaces. There was a hole where the tub bottom met the floor about an inch in diameter. It looked like they had tried to fix a bigger hole with buddy but didn't put anything behind it to hold the buddy in place. Every time I went to the bathroom, I expected something stick it's head out of the hole. We were looking forward to swimming part of the time. There was nothing in description that said pool had a problem. We went to swim but the pool was so dirty and smelled horrible. The people we saw go to swim came right back out. We were taking my daughter and grandson to Vernal UT. to see all the dinosaur exhibits. We were very disappointed. I took a video but this app will only take photos.

Hotel in under construction . Only third floor is done. Could not use stairs.

As others have mentioned, the hotel is undergoing renovations and things look a bit sloppy outside with equipment and litter. Inside the second floor is being worked on, third floor complete - so request a third floor room as they are very nice and new. Also request a room on backside of hotel as the busy highway is quite noisy throughout the night. They have noise machines in the rooms facing the highway so it is obviously a concern. The usual breakfast although we ate next to stacks of drywall. Would stay here again and most likely give it five stars after renovation is complete.
