Las Terrazas Resort and Residences Ambergris

The staff were personal, professional and friendly. They made up for the problems with water pressure and other mild inconveniences. The food was very good at the O. Overall the resort was nice and we had a good experience, but it was overpriced in comparison to similar resorts on the island. A++ for the staff, A+ for food, A- for drinks, A- on room, C- for prices.

Overall the property ia beautiful, and the staff were great! The lunch and dinner food was not on par, bot cooked well or prepared for a higher end resort. Breakfast was great, and spa was pretty good. I got a deep tissue massage and it was anything but.

Loved this hotel! It's about a 25 minute golf cart ride from the centre of the island so it's a little way out but it's quiet and peaceful. Just dusty because the road is unpaved at the moment. The staff were incredible, everyone super friendly, professional and helpful. It was a windy few days for us so we couldn't get to use the beach much but another 20 minutes on is Secret Beach so we would go there instead. The pool here is great, plenty of loungers and space for everyone to relax. The rooms were clean, beds comfy and shower powerful!! Brilliant value for money and we even got a free upgrade. Would definitely stay here again but you definitely need to hire a golf cart to get around the island. Perfect for if you want to get out the real hum of the island but there are still plenty of food places nearby.

Roaches ! Roaches ! Checked in on my first night and had roaches in the kitchen. Called front desk to notify. Said they can’t accommodate me because my stay of 7 nights was too long and they had no other room’s available. They said they would notify manger and he would get back to me, and they would send someone to spray. Manager never called to follow up, and no one came to spray . Also didn’t have hot water in my room for the first 3 nights. I called and no one showed up to fix it till the 4th night . Then the next day hot water was gone had to call again. Sat by the pool with family. We ordered food it took an hour for nuggets and fries to come . A family of 6 sat down 30 minutes after us and received their food first. I asked a server they said it wasn’t my order follow up with who placed your order. I had to go to kitchen and complain and ask why my food was taking so long. All they said was it’s coming . The staff and hotel cater to a certain demographic over others. Even though we all pay the same price. I had family members staying in a three bedroom penthouse and they also had no water . The personal jacuzzi in the room doesn’t work. It’s basically a mini pool. They also complained and nothing was done. They did a horrible job of cleaning rooms. The staff never came . My room was only cleaned 3 days out of the 7 nights . I had to call every morning and request service and when we would return to our room nothing was cleaned. No clean towels . We basically had to beg.

Lovely property- great pool- was located on the beach but we couldn't access the ocean due to the sargassum. Staff was nice. Restaurant was expensive but food was good, not great. Housekeeping didn't come til 4pm which wasn't ideal. Fishing poles were available but no weights and the poles weren't really in good enough shape to catch anything. Not sure I'd stay here again- I'd probably venture out and try something else- maybe something closer to San Pedro.

We didn't have breakfast......we did, however, have 1 lunch and two dinners. The food was good but it took forever to get it. And.........it wasn't that busy. On our last night, we ate the fish that we caught that day, plus pre-ordered the side dishes. It took almost an hour to get the food, and this is with an 8-year old. Totally unacceptable.

The staff seems to be clueless. We asked them to make a restaurant reservation for us and they didn't do it. The cleaning staff must not have enough people. I know that they can be busy, but the first several days we were there they didn't come into clean until 5:00 and they can't count towels. We were always short and had to keep asking for more.

The location is perfect if you plan on going to San Pedro and Secret Beach as it is in between both.

New and clean. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and it was very spacious! The pool was great. The dock allowed us to swim in the ocean. And it was about 20min golf cart ride to secret beach!

Las Terrazas is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our stay. The beach and pool are both lovely, and we had no problem getting chairs. They cleaned the sea grass off the beach at least daily (sometimes more than once per day) if it was blowing in, which is essential some days. We enjoyed the complementary kayaks and paddle boards. The food in the restaurant was also good and the condo was clean and pleasant. My only complaint was that the living room furniture was a bit worn and uncomfortable, but we didn't spend much time there. Also, the areas outside the resort are not nice, but the resort obviously can't control that and we always felt perfectly safe. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay for a very reasonable price!

Complementary water in the room, staff was accommodating, location was right in between the city and secret beach. The private beach was amazing.

The food at the resort restaurant was not that good. We had no patio furniture.
