Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carrollton by IHG

Drove up, construction debris scattered everywhere, blocking close parking spaces. Check in staff not trained. Couldn’t find reservation so had to show my reservation to her from my phone. Furniture/fixtures/and finishes well worn. Badly in need of updating. Not typical ihg standards. Would not recommend unless in a pinch

The night shift staff was not the friendliest, but the housekeeping staff made up for it with smiles and friendly greetings every morning. Hotel is very clean and breakfast had a few more choices than standard hotel fare. Exercise room was very good, but the monitor on the "business center" computer was not working.

Wow! Felt very uncomfortable in this holiday inn express! Definitely aesthetically the worst holiday inn express we’ve stayed in and we stay at holiday inn express’s frequently! The pictures speak for itself. So run down and old. Although the lobby has been updated and modernized. So maybe they are beginning a much needed renovation. The bathroom handle in room 301 fell off. There was no bed skirt on the bed, you could just see the bed frame. There were stains and rips in furniture everywhere. Positives were the updated lobby, a comfortable bed, and friendly staff. This is strictly a cosmetic issue and cleanliness. Not a staffing issue. So corporate, sink some money in to this location. It’s much needed!

Not impressed with how much our room cost vs how the room was. Missing an outlet cover. No close place to plug in any electronics near the bed. No bed skirt. Bed was cheap and uncomfortable.

Overnight Wednesday stay 2 couples as walk-ins, got in on cancellations. Typical HiX property, just off the highway. Double queen rooms were clean, with fridge, tv, microwave. The desk chair in our room should be scrapped! Full sized bath, with fixed shower head. It was busy, but quiet - we slept well. Wi-fi was poor with intermittent signal. Breakfast was fine, the usual buffet fare. Just average really.

When I look for a hotel when we are on the road I need location, safe area, really nice clean building and knowledgeable staff. This location is great about all the above and especially Kearston, who has been amazing! Helpful, considerate, caring and again, knowledgeable. The fitness center was not available because of renovations. Was offered to go to "sister hotel" but didn't think that was a safe idea for me. I thought the bathroom was not clean because the shower faucets look as if they were not clean, but it was due to the corrosion from the hard water.

Remodeling going on but yet very clean lobby. Thank s is your average Holiday Inn Express. Friendly staff, clean room however some of the furniture has heavy usage wear marks on corners and hard water stains on bathroom tile under sink where it once leaked for a while at some point. Bed was comfortable and nice selection of pillows on beds. I would stay there again without hesitation.
