Jabberwock Inn

The Jabberwock Inn is nicely situated a short walk from the ocean and an easy drive in from the freeway. It was easy to find and easy to park. The Cannery and other things are just a short walk away. There are some lovely views from the hotel over the ocean. I was met by the hosts when I arrived and was made to feel very welcome and very much at home. I was shown round and given some of the interesting history of the building. There was also complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. There is no dinner served here but I was given a selection of recommendations tailored to my preferences and I took up one of these (the Fish Hopper) which was just a short walk away The hotel itself is absolutely dripping with charm and character, I found myself taking as many photos inside the place as I did outside in the town! My room was of a pleasant size, with a nice large bed which was very comfortable. I had a nice en suite with a shower and all the expected "consumables" provided. I was also provided with some brandy which was unexpected but a welcome night cap. Breakfast was lovely, very unique and well presented and all done with absolute care and attention to detail. Everything in the place is down to the last detail. It is an utter delight. I was kinda sad to leave when it was time to check out, again a most friendly and agreeable process.

Outstanding craftsman detail and furnishings. Excellent staff and responsiveness. Charming rooms. Prime location near, yet removed from tourist areas.

Wonderful stay and very helpful with everything Monterey. Rick and Suzanne were such great hosts. Gave great recommendations for hiking and eating out. They will accommodate you in every way possible. Highly Highly recommend staying here on your next visit. We have visited Monterey countless times and this is one of our favorites.

Cute, cozy.

We loved staying here! The staff are great and the place is really cute. We felt very safe - lots of covid precautions in place. There are also lots of places to sit inside and out that were socially distant. The food is great, too! This place is secluded yet is close enough to Cannery Row. We’ll definitely come back!

Beautiful historic house on beautiful grounds. Also, a very short walk (down a hill) to the center of town and the ocean/aquarium. Staff super friendly and helpful. Note: No tvs in rooms and one room does not have the bathroom en suite. Fine fine place.

Wonderful staff. I felt at home. Very relaxing. The Alice in Wonderland theme is delightful.

We enjoyed this place totally because they worked so hard to make your stay the best. Loved it.
