Fordoun Hotel & Spa

Spent an evening at Fordoun Hotel & Spa on the way home after attending a wedding in the Midlands. Made the booking based on the rating as well as reviews of the property. Spent a wonderful evening in great accommodation, with great service and wonderful food.

Our stay was one night on way to our final destination. The accommodation with a superb bathroom including both bath and separate shower was excellent. Our dinner (a la carte) was disappointing as chicken and prawn curry was notable for the paucity of prawns. Duck breast lacked the usual strong flavour and swamped by the vegetables. Breakfast included in the room rate was not up to standard with poached eggs too hard (Medium requested) bacon was very hard and tomato under grilled. The kippers were excellent but Rosti was soft and not crisp as anticipated. We did not experience the spa facilities.

Friendly staff and efficient service - will definitely be revisiting.

We enjoyed our stay at Fordoun. The familly and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We felt the only thing that let our stay down was the standard of the food in the evening. Was not quite up to scratch and we all felt that.

A friendly welcome and great atmosphere. All facilities well run and professional.

We had theee nights in this lovely Hotel. A lovely setting, beautiful views. Didn't use the Spa much other than one massage. Food was delicious, staff friendly and all in all a nice break.

Another great experience at Fordoun

The hotel was located in a good location close to the different shops in the area. You could pick up a nice meal at the hotel and it was very quite and serene. You need a car to get around the area and to the hotel
